On a personal note: I lost about 70 lbs. over a year on the "4-Hour Body" diet. It worked, but you had to eat virtually the same food, every day of the week. After I gained the weight back (as most of us do...) my doctor recommended  intermittent fasting, which had become all the rage in medical circles. I did a 12/12 fast which meant eating normally for 12 hours and fasting for 12. If one does the fasting part after 6 PM, one is sleeping most of the time anyway. It did stop me from gaining any more weight, but I didn't lose any either. She had also told me about one of her patients who was eating just 6 hours per day and fasting 18. The woman actually needed a note from the doctor to Weight Watchers just to assure them it was okay for her to lose so much weight. So I compromised: I stopped eating at 3 PM and didn't begin again until 6 AM. And, now I'm losing almost a pound per day...
