Hudson is interviewed on his new book, talks about economic parasitism by the rentier class, the exponential growth of debt vs. production, the enabling of the rentier class through neoliberal economics which promotes non-democratic "toll-booth" economic policy.  Public infrastructure and other government activities are privatized, driving up costs and providing still more opportunities for rent-extraction, collapsing economies through debt bondage.
All the while, the parasite finance sector convinces the host that it must be protected, that it is its "baby" by taking over its brain (government, education, media).
