Greenland's leader rips Trump: Idea of buying territory 'not something to joke about'

Trump shared an edited picture depicting a Trump Tower on the semi-autonomous Danish territory.  Kim Kielsen's comments came Trump shared the image on Twitter late Monday amid discussion from his administration about purchasing Greenland, stating, 'I promise not do this to Greenland!' Denmark's prime minister made similar remarks on Sunday after reports began to surface that Trump wanted his administration to look into a purchase of Greenland.

Maybe Trump could trade Washington and Oregon for Greenland. I doubt anyone here would mind.

Aw, man, I LIKE WA and OR! Couldn't we trade Louisiana, Texas and Alabama? That's a nice chunk of contiguous property...I'm sure Greenland could bring up the educational and health stats in those areas...

I live in WA and would be glad to be part of Denmark. I would rather be a Dane with Oregon for as part of my fine new country than the Y'all states mentioned. If the Danes are in charge, I might get an Art Exchange funded between your nation and my new one. Dreams have power!

I loved living in Greenland - Grondal, across fijord from Ivigtut. Rain/thundershowers in January. 1948-49.

Funny that Trump didn't offer to trade, for Greenland, the US states that didn't vote for him. Some states might be glad to be sold or traded to Denmark...with its proper health care and all.
