In midst of an interesting and wide-ranging discussion on the   Joe Rogan Experience, Democratic congresswoman and presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard said that if elected president she would drop all charges against NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. “What would you do about Julian Assange? What would you do about Edward Snowden?” Rogan asked in the latter part of the episode... “Yeah, dropping the charges,” Gabbard replied.

In my run for U.S. Senate against Utah's Orrin Hatch, I posted many progressive ideas and principles that I internalized over the years. I'm leaving that site up indefinitely, since it describes what I believe most members of our species truly (more...)

I usually find Caitlin Johnstone's articles posted directly here on OEN, but didn't today and, given the nature of it, opted for a quick link. Since the video is already not appearing as it should--and did earlier this morning--I'm giving a direct link to the video click here

Another reason Tulsi is being silenced by the Presstitute Media Propagandists (PMP) who are following orders from those taking over our nation. The truth is the most damaging weapon against treasonous activities. Here Tulsi shows exactly why she is the hope for regaining our nation.

Thanks, Joe Rogan for having her on your show and allowing her to speak the truth without any smearing as happens on the PMP sights.

I don't think any president can legally interfere in judicial processes, enough to "drop all the charges." As nice as that all sounds and as much as I would be "in simpatico," I question whether it would even be possible. Dropping charges is not the same as pardoning after adjudication. We do have a separation of powers.

We have a seperation of powers??? Are you actively supporting dRump? Separation of powers was nice jargon, that I greatly appreciate. But can you produce evidence we actually do have that, starting with the wars started with never with a single congressional vote?

You missed my point entirely. Presidents don't have the power to dismiss charges, from either party. They categorically would get into deep doodoo just asking an Attorney General to dismiss charges.

Nor am I supporting Trump. That is really quite an hysterical question.

I suggest that you could re-read my comment to better understand it; hopefully in the future you will spell "separation" correctly.

A President can fire a prosecutor, but that didn't turn out so well for Nixon vis a vis Archibald Cox, did it?

A president can and should build a cabinet, or might simply allow the existing one to continue, as Obama clearly showed us.

In this example, Gabbard could appoint a general prosecutor who would simply note that Assange is both beyond our jurisdiction and cannot be charged as a political journalist speaking the truth.

Aside from that, "legal scholars" are having "great debates" about this, digging up the 1917 Espionage Act to make their point--even though there has been zero evidence of espionage, for anyone who understands the actual definition of the word. You might want to look that one up yourself, along with the inane debates.

If Trump came true on some of his campaign promises, such as not interfering with other countries, he just might pardon Assange, even as a mere technicality. (I notice that Google has no spell check for Assange, btw, though I certainly don't wonder why. I also note that Trump, in spite of being an utter moron, has been trying to check off his campaign promises; that Israel got him elected doesn't alter this simple fact.)

If you didn't mean your last sentence, that we have separation of powers, why did you put it to print?

Thank you for the spelling correction, caused by the gerbil sized keypad, evidently due to my out-sourced cell phone.
