Check out this Washington Post editorial. Republicans are on a tear in Wisconsin and Georgia. They are tossing out the voter registration information of Americans who are registered in their states but don't meet some legal requirement established by the legislature. The requirement usually has something to do with when was the last time the registered voter voted.
You don't see the government taking away guns from folk who don't fire a weapon in a few years. You don't see cops arrest couples who go without sex for a certain amount of time. You don't even see pastors give the boot to people who have failed to attend church for several years.
So the GOP logic is: why stop at removing the names of dead people and people who move away? Why not get rid of people who may some day vote Democratic? Don't blame us, they say. We are just keeping the voting rolls clean.
