Between globalization and nearly 20 years of constant warfare, the industrial part of the US military-industrial complex is not looking so good, putting future wars at risk, according to a new Pentagon report. The Annual Industrial Capabilities report, published by the Pentagon’s Office of Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy, warns that reliance on foreign-sourced materials combined with “twenty years of intermittent conflict,” have put a strain on US manufacturers of weapons, parts and ammunition.

And yet Congress votes ever larger pay-offs for the Military Industry...

Perhaps they should also fund a Reading Comprehension Program for Mentally Disabled Lawmakers!

Thank you for posting this, Daniel Geery. I've learned something new. I've often wondered where the war hawks think a continuous supply of physically and mentally fit recruits is going to come from, given that suicide now claims more soldiers' lives than combat injuries do. But given the immense size of the military budget for the purchase and maintenance of advanced new weapons, and the constantly repeated assurances that we have the best military in the world many times over, it never occurred to me that there could be serious shortages in that department too. Very interesting! Does John Bolton have an answer for this? I cringe to think.
