The US claims that it is backing "moderate rebels" fighting for democracy against the "dictator" Bashar al-Assad. The truth is that the US, Saudi Arabia and Qatar are backing extremist Islamic Wahhabi-version fundamentalists aligned with Al Qaeda and ISIS. The US wants to "regime change" Syria because it is an Arab socialist government, which won't join the US hegemonic "new world" economic order, which benefits Western capitalist corporation.

Thanks! Glad Vanessa Beeley (and you) are on top of it. From what I understand, Aleppo, under Syrian government now, is well on the road to recovery these days.

The Washington Consensus crowd in DC will never give up their regime change narrative voluntarily. Their personal fortunes are at stake.

It's up to us to tear their lies to shreds every chance we get until their credibility is zero. It'll be a tough slog, but worth it when we prevail.

You are absolutely right Lois. The (US) Evil Empire never gives up. It has been trying to overthrow the secular socialist (i.e. so-called "communist") Baathist government in Syria for decades. The current effort started in 2003. The ideology of Baathist party is "Unity, Liberty, Socialism". Arab unity is something the empire cannot tolerate. Colonialism thrives on divide and conquer.

P.S. The above group is the same one that beheaded a 12 year old Palestinian boy.

"Rob Kall has certainly acquired the firsthand experiences and knowledge gained through interviews to deliver some interesting insights about the "bottom-up" information revolution. Whereas the old 'top-down' systems created stove-pipes and excessive secrecy that blocked information sharing and led to the 'failure to connect the dots' before 9-11, the bottom-up approach should be the main fix. Kall's concept would seem to interface equally well with the founding fathers' idealism in setting forth their democratic theory of governance as with the realism that makes the multi-sourced, bottom-up Wikipedia work.
