Executive Order Calls For Elimination Of Some EPA Advisory Committees

AP: “Trump signed an executive order ... that directs every federal agency to evaluate the need for all of its advisory committees created under the Federal Advisory Committee Act giving agency heads until September to terminate at least one-third of current committees created by agency heads.”

Advisory committees play a big role in EPA decision-making, which outlines federal drinking water, wastewater guideline regulations, and determines punishment for violating those regulations. EPA boards that could be affected by the executive order include the EPA Science Advisory Board, the Environmental Financial Advisory Board, and the National Drinking Water Advisory Council.
