Here is the exact wording of the controversial House Res, 246. It was tricky to find the exact wording even on several search engines, but tons of yada yada ABOUT it! As usual.

Note that it is non-binding and is somewhat vague in what it actually does. I don't see that it undermines the First Amendment, though I realize others may.

I don't like the wording and don't consider the bill necessary or truly useful in any way, but it seems to boil down to advocating a two-state solution for Israel and Palestine, that Israel makes has traditionally made impossible.

I present two links below that I trust are of further and related interest.

The House "reaffirms its strong support for a negotiated so- lution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict resulting in two statesa democratic Jewish State of Israel, and a viable, democratic Palestinian stateliving side-by-side in peace, security, and mutual recognition."

After some 70 years of relentless, systematic confiscation of Palestinian lands, to pretend that Israel has any intention of allowing a viable, independent Palestinian state is just enabling a continuation of the crimes.

A two state solution will never be achievable, never ever. Without rolling back the boundaries to 1967 there will not be any solution to this. Reparations to the Palestinians and all land returned to make them whole again for returning refugees passage is just a beginning.

Of course not. The point is diminishing, eradicating BDS and we're on the road to support for BDS means you're an "anti-Semite".

The 2 state solution is cover. Saying you don't think it's possible undermines the entire resolution. Of course it's not possible. It's the proverbial empire has no cloths syndrome. But these clowns in Congress wanted the faux cover to vote for this and not upset AIPAC or their constituency who will go about the task of excusing said vote for some kind of tactical maneuver. (Did 8 years of Obama teach you nothing?)

It's not just this vote or even the military budget vote (all shameful). It is the tactic which once deployed will be a continued tool, particularly for those running for POTUS. It says, how can I do this without looking entirely phony? It's akin to plausible deniability.

What does Tulsi mean when she says she's against regime change wars, but for a war on terror? Is that like Obama saying he's against "stupid" wars?

This may never get a vote (Ilhan Omar introduces resolution upholding right to boycott) but if it did would TG vote for it? If asked would she answer the question or get coy about "hypotheticals"?

As for the war on terror I will refer you to my previous links on exactly who is funding terror while claiming the high ground of the fight against it. I must ask you to recognize that it is we who have lost our constitutional guaranteed Treasure, Commons and Inalienable Rights and of forming a more perfect union.

I agree Jim, this is not just subjugation of Palestinians but the US and the world in general. This issue should not be in the micro alone but in the history of the actions of Israel and the US led by Israel. This article, is a very clear description of what the world is up against and why. I will need more than this vote to sway me from TG as I am more suspect of the movement of the MIC and the control of Israel and its gathered forces by coercion which is plain to see and has been for over a century. What was rumored is now fact, we have been warned. If one has been following Britain and it's Israeli manipulations that are destroying any chance for open discussions being met by the anti-semitic scream that is out of proportion to any reasonable discussion over Israeli actions at home and abroad..

"The tragedy in all this for Americans is that Washington is being led into war by an Israeli propaganda and influence machine that is second to none. In May four hundred Congressmen signed on to a generic bill that was intended as a blanket endorsement of Israeli behavior and a blank check for the ruthless Netanyahu government to do whatever it sees fit in "self-defense," with Washington willing to be dragged into a conflict in which it has no real interest just to show its loyalty to the Zionist enterprise. More recently, by last Tuesday's vote of 398 to 176, another Congressional bill condemned and established penalties against the nonviolent Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which has become a bête noire for all of Israel's friends. If America is ever to regain its independence from foreign entanglements the time to start is now and the process should begin by disengaging from Israel".

She voted for $1.46 trillion to the MIC over 2 years, billions more than the Pentagon asked for and more than all other budgeted (discretionary items combined which includes VA)! If she were to be elected, her budget for her first year in office for the MIC would be greater than this 2020! She already voted for it.

I would be less inclined to give her the continued benefits of the doubts at this point, and there are many. She said she supported BDS in a town hall meeting captured on YouTube (the person asking the question was looking at her as a "truth teller" and advocate for peace". So which is it? If she's unsure about the condemnation of BDS in this resolution she could have abstained or missed the roll call. She instead voted YES.

Sometimes as the song goes "man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest."

Art, what you are calling as a certainty is not. Your own argument is based on suspicion or possibly a house of cards. TG "voted for discretionary items combined which includes VA". We know that TG was serving with medical units responsible for the injured, KIA and medical evacuations. I would have been appalled if she did not vote for these which should have been a separate bill but as we know the sausage is the way of all bills to gain enough votes for passage. You would deny those soldiers fallen and disabled from much reported and needed funds for them.

May I ask who you are now favoring in the Presidential debates? I have not changed mine and the reasons for supporting this movement of recovering our Treasure, Commons and Inalienable Rights.

Bottom line: she voted for a budget that exceeds that of the Cold War!!

I really am not enamored by military service. She went to fight Al Qaeda on the basis of lies in Iraq. She should have come back and become a Vet for Peace. Instead she continues to play soldier. What lesson is that?

Not being a lawyer and not having the ability to understand legal-speak I would say that a "No" vote on this would be more damning as it could be said you would be against Israel and Palestine from working their disagreement out in a two-state arrangement. I still have the right to not do business with whomever I choose on an individual basis.

It would seem to take away Trump's main weapon, the sanction, against Israel which he would not do in the first place as he knows who butters his bread.

This is the first shot to end BDS. Why would such a vote be needed? Why must the US Congress pledge support?

The two-state solution which is used as a pretext here, is impossible to accomplish. The West Bank has hundreds of thousands of Israeli settlers, malls, towns, etc. It would never be accomplished. The point is singling out BDS.

Those who voted against this bill, look who they are, saw this bill for what it is: a means to stop the only peaceful approach to solving the Pal/Israel dilemma and Israel slaughter of Palestinians.

Your wish to believe that Tulsi Gabbard is a worthy peace candidate has blinded your thinking.

It doesn't require a legal understanding. It is clear. It is targeting BDS. Getting that on the record is step 1. The BDS supporters know what this is. In effect it does impede 1st amendment. AIPAC learned from the Senate version and put this out there. If it was just 2-state which is status quo, than BDS would never be mentioned.

Lastly I've commented extensively in support of TG, and donated frequently to her campaign. I heard her. But when she voted for this anti-BDS bill and the $1.46 trillion for military over two years that began the rethink. I'm not wed to a candidate. I've seen how this works. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. We live in an imperial empire, not a democracy. The President presides over said empire.

Art I am not swayed from supporting TG, there is more than one way to skin a cat and our energies should be to convalesce from the Elephant in the room. The fight here is removing the transnational criminal cabals' from the US in grasping or feeling out corruption spreading its tentacles worldwide. But it must start at home as the corner stone to any convalescing.

George agree with this and many other of your comments. However TG is not the answer (and sure she may not even make the DNC cut). I have a problem with duplicity.

She will not remove transnationals. So why use her name in you post?

I'm not looking for a "winner". I am looking for a truth teller. The young lady who asked the question of Tulsi regarding support for BDS was looking for a truth teller. Wonder what she thinks of TG after her vote?

This is an important issue for those who seek human rights for people, particularly oppressed peoples. So for me it's a game changer. I don't need 3 or 4 reasons, though one could dig them up.

Art, I have followed TG for some time now and there is no doubt where she stands and has made many possible career ending moves in action to change the direction of our country. I have over a few years provided articles when MSM would not as is still the case today. The articles may or may not provide what you may personally need but it helps to understand just who we are talking about and honor the deeds out in the open.

Member of the Armed Services Committee Tells Truth to Power about Syria

Tulsi Gabbard, Democrat from Hawaii, member of the Armed Services Committee, Iraq War Veteran and Major in the Hawaii National Guard is telling truth to power. In no uncertain terms it points out a fatal flaw in Hilary's Syrian plan and US involvement as a repeat of the disaster in Libya 101 and to repeat the massacring of Christians and other minority groups.

She points out that involvement in Syria is illegal and supplies weapons to the terrorist enemies of the US and the rest of the world. This US Army Major is on top of her game and shows bravery and determination that every US Congressional representative should acknowledge and bears the question of their honesty, loyalty and sworn oath to protect the citizens of the US.

With President Putin leading the war on terror that the US not only refuses to do but shows all the traits of treason and tyranny in their actions and lack of actions around not only the Middle East but the world as well. What are they hiding under the veil of secrecy from the American people? How will the American people ever be able to trust government being loyal to its people when it demonstrates just the opposite? What is the government hiding from the public in co-operation of Main Street media spin?

Every politician running for office must be vetted on these issues and sworn to the American people not a hidden power of secrecy or loyalty to any other nation or third party before the rights to know what is being done in our name.

Member of the Armed Services Committee Tells Truth to Power about Syria

Tulsi Gabbard to Represent US in Astana Peace Talks?

Tulsi Gabbard makes unannounced trip to Syria.

Russia and Turkey have set up the January 23 Astana talks and has invited the US to participate as the first real shot at ending the Syrian Civil War.

Gabbard's office, citing security, says a lot of the details of the trip are not going to be revealed until she has returned to the United States, and they declined to say if she had met directly with President Bashar al-Assad, though they did confirm she'd met with several government leaders while in Damascus.

Tulsi Gabbard Democrat from Hawaii, member of the Armed Services Committee, Iraq War Veteran and Major in the Hawaii National Guard is known for speaking truth to power. Gabbard has called for the Obama administration to abandon all assistance to armed groups and stop seeking Assad's overthrow, saying that the effort undermines the fight against the Islamic State there. These views coincide with those of President-elect Donald Trump, who has said the fight against the militants should take priority and has called for cooperation with Russia, Assad's principal foreign backer.

Gabbard's trip to Syria was first reported by Foreign Policy.

Tulsi Gabbard according to the Washington Post and other sources has made an unannounced trip to Syria and is meetings in Damascus as well.

Long opposed to US attempts to impose regime change in Syria, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D -- HI) has made a trip to Syria this week, an unannounced visit which saw Gabbard spending considerable time in the capital city of Damascus "to promote and work for peace."

Tulsi Gabbard to Represent US in Astana Peace Talks?

We have common enemies; Let us not forget our common goals!

While MSM's spells and trances over the elections still focuses on divide and conquer rule there are separate gathering forces to eliminate endless wars and trade policies that undermine our Treasure, Commons and Inalienable Rights, Income inequality which is not last nor least of the battles still raging. We cannot disengage from these, not now not ever!

"Let me be clear, I will never allow partisanship to undermine our national security when the lives of countless people lay in the balance" Tulsi Gabbard

Here in OpEdNews we are very aware of Tulsi Gabbard being known for speaking truth to power. In fact many passing through here have expressed their views favorable for Tulsi's qualities in leadership in the face of enemies in armed war and the homeland battlefield from the bottom up.

As you have no doubt heard by now, Tulsi Gabbard has met with President-elect Donald Trump Monday.

I received an email today which follows:

George --
(I did donate to her re-election campaign, probably a list but the message is personal and emotional I assure you.)

As you have no doubt heard by now, I met with President-elect Donald Trump earlier today.

He asked me to meet with him to discuss our current policies regarding Syria, our fight against terrorist groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS, as well as other foreign policy challenges we face.

It would have been easier for me to refuse this meeting. The establishment and social media have been talking about this all day. But I never have and never will play politics with American and Syrian lives.

In fact, like President Obama, I firmly believe that now is the time for us to put our country first, and come together, regardless of political party, and tackle the many challenges we face.

This was an opportunity to advocate for peace--and I felt it was important to take the opportunity to meet with the President-elect to counteract neocons' steady drumbeats of war, which threaten to drag us into an escalation of the war to overthrow the Syrian government.

This war has already cost hundreds of thousands of lives and forced millions of refugees to flee their homes in search of safety for themselves and their families. It has also strengthened al-Qaeda and other violent, extremist groups in the region. It would have been irresponsible not to accept this invitation. I feel it is my duty to take every single opportunity I get to advocate for peace, no matter the circumstances of those meetings.

I shared with him my grave concerns that escalating the war in Syria by implementing a so-called no-fly/safe zone would be disastrous for the Syrian people, our country, and the world. It would lead to more death and suffering, exacerbate the refugee crisis, strengthen ISIS and al-Qaeda and bring us into a direct conflict with Russia--potentially resulting in a nuclear war. We discussed my bill to end our country's illegal war to overthrow the Syrian government and the need to focus our precious resources on rebuilding our country, and on defeating al-Qaeda, ISIS, and other terrorist groups who pose a threat to the American people.

Also, where I disagree with President-elect Trump on issues, I will not hesitate to express that disagreement. You didn't send me to Washington to make friends with the political elite. You sent me to represent you, and I am committed to doing just that.

In short: I will never allow partisanship to undermine our national security when the lives of countless people lay in the balance.

If that earns me enemies in Washington or at the State Department, then so be it.

I hope you'll continue to stand with me and stay engaged. The cause of peace is too great for us to allow political disagreements or partisanship to stand in our way. We have common enemies; Let us not forget our common goals!

She equivocates. She has made clear her support for war on terror. She must know as Max Blumenthal explains in The Management of Savagery, that these terrorists groups are US/Israel proxies.

She's following the MSM narrative (in fact so did Trump until he was taken to the Deep State/Neocon woodshed).

She seemed fairly sure footed but she fell from pro-peace grace with her AIPAC vote (Kucinich, Nader and Mike Gravel never did). She will never be able to take it back even if she supports Omar's bill to assure the right to boycott. No do overs. It's called a moment of truth. She failed. It will take months perhaps years to regain any confidence from the peace movement, or even other progressive issues. This puts her in the company of Kamala Harris. Sad.

Her recent Yea vote for over $1T on military spending appears to cut herself off at the knees.. At a minimum she could have abstained.

Exactly. Both votes weren't needed. However perhaps it's a wake up call for those of us who have consistently supported just peace.

It grates me when people use "other progressives" to make the case for these votes. This is not about labels, it's about judgement. At the end of the day that's always what it's about, case by case judgement and core principles.

Kamala is who she is. Tulsi's supporters were not Kamala supporters. You don't compromise on peace when people are living in conditions of an open air prison and brutally bombed and terrorized regardless the politics. People who are familiar with the tactics of AIPAC, and the actual language of BDS would see how bad her vote was.

The military budget is disturbing to say the least.

After working for Kucinich, Nader, Stein, Anderson, even BO (which I regretted the same week, when I saw the Bush Cabinet in place) and others in the past, I assure you I'm reading all input carefully.

And absolutely not holding my brreath!

Big Deal that the Bill is non binding, it's the atrocious language that amounts to a government paid advertisement of Israeli Propaganda, with no acknowledgement of the human rights of the Palestinians. It states that a Two State Solution is still viable, and we all know that the ruling Likud party in the Israeli Government is adamantly opposed to such a "solution." This bill reviews the painful and immoral political and financial support the US government has given Israel over the decades, much to the objection of an increasingly number of US citizens - both Jew and non-Jew. This government support is primarily the result of American financial and political interference that is in many instances in violation of free speech on behalf of other Americans, both political and non-political actors. For many decades now, public speech against the un-democratic influence of Israel on our government has been effectively censored by our own politicians. To me, as a supporter of truth and justice, it's a deplorable statement by our government, and it makes our nation the laughing stock of most the rest of the world. Please go to www.Mondoweiss.net for the truth about Israel.
