Early Voting and Other Election Reforms Coming to New York

“Early voting? Voting by mail? Same-day voter registration?” Big changes are in store for one of the bluest states in the Union with some of the most antediluvian electoral systems. This sea change is possible now that the state legislature is Democrat-dominated. Also on the agenda are pre-registration of high school-aged students and combining state primaries with federal ones, which will greatly boost voter turnout. And this is just the beginning, said one source; another remarked that the caboose will become the engine of the Empire State’s train. A few of these changes will entail referendums because they will involve amending the state conssitutition. Read on.
