The company has agreed to pay fines and has entered into a deferred prosecution agreement which includes a $20 million penalty. So the fish remaining to be fried is 74 year old former CEO Laurence Doud III, who could spend the rest of his life in prison.

The answer is to declare the companies that created this epidemic of death executed. Take their assets and make them public property-- adding them to the commons.

"Deferred prosecution". Nice way of saying nobody will be convicted of anything serious. The euphemisms never stop coming.

I'm sure Doud won't be going to prison, either. They never do.

They make $BILLIONS$ in criminal profits, and pay a pittance of a fine for "reparations". Geez, I'll take that deal!

It's funny how corporations can be "people", but not legally accountable for their crimes the way actual people are. I agree with the idea of seizing a criminal company (the way individuals are stripped of criminal assets/resources), but as appropriate as it would be, it'll never happen.
