The Democratic primary contest just got real as a new poll of New Hampshire revealed that Bernie Sanders has taken a seven-point lead over Hillary Clinton. The record crowds that Sanders is drawing around the country are beginning to translate to success in the polls. Clinton is intentionally running a low-key campaign that is focused on policy proposals while Sanders is barnstorming the country with a populist call for a political revolution. Within this context, it is understandable why voters would be more emotionally engaged with Sanders.
