According to the article Hillary Clinton was Never Going to Support TPP: For labor unions and the base of the Democratic Party, TPP is not just one issue among many. It is THE ISSUE.
There was no way Hillary Clinton could ever support it. It would be like a
Republican presidential candidate endorsing Obamacare.
A proactive HRC would have opposed TPP in the spring of 2015 when it first came before Congress, in the form of fast-track and, given fast-track narrow margin of victory, in all likelihood would have caused its defeat. Unfortunately, an incisive HRC gave the GOP and their 1% owners, potentially their greatest legislative victory of the Obama terms in office.
HRC’s delay in opposing The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) can be viewed as the tip-of the-iceberg to Hillary’s indecisive and reactive mode of operation with regard to political issues.
