As our nation is recovering from the attempted bombing attacks on politicians and high-profie citizens, another domestic terrorist act of violence has been launched.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's historic Tree of Life synagogue and its congregants are the latest victims of the violence that continues to plague our nation.

Robert Bowers is the believed perpetrator and is in custody.

This latest event should serve to elevate the conversation over bigotry and hatred that has been publicly manifested during the last few years.

A question we might all ask ourselves is what part does incendiary political rhetoric play not in causing but rather in exacerbating acts of prejudice?

Watch as President Trump explains his idea of how to stop incidents such as this from happening. Is he suggesting that we have a society where armed guards are needed everywhere to protect essential liberties?

Perhaps it is time for everyone to take a step back, and step up the conversation about the impact of hateful political rhetoric.

We don't know what motivated this lone actor... but we do know that political speech that encourages violence in general does have impact.

It really would be helpful for those who read this quick link to begin a dialog.

Check out the Donald Trump video where his solution seems to be that armed guards inside the temple would have prevented this.

Is this what we want as a nation, as a people as members of the human race?

Dialog helps elevate conversation and leads to action.

Please share your thoughts if you are so inclined.

Thanks. Dave

Uncalled for loss of life is always criminal and the gravest of tragedy, whether the perpetrator be an individual or a government.

Talk about selective objectivity:

"This latest event should serve to elevate the conversation over bigotry and hatred that has been publicly manifested during the last few years."

It's only bigotry and hatred when others pick on Jews?

Call me naive, or any other derogatory epithet you choose, if this will allay your fears.

And how does perpetually dealing the religious paranoia card alleviate the situation, other than promoting feelings of retributive hostility towards those whom Jews hate and openly persecute abroad.

Israeli's have the right of brutal retaliation against the sticks and stones of Palestinians, yet your concern appears to be only subjective.

Either we condemn bigotry and hatred universally or the argument reeks of bias.

We're all only fallible humans, so let's put it down to this rather than acknowledge our own double standards.

On top of this; sorry to break the news, but you are giving the NRA grist for their mill, that it is not guns that kill humans, but lunatics with guns.

In Israel they don't have lunatics with guns, unless of course they are the enemy.

One diminished capacity, individual hater with a grudge, and we're off on a roll.

It starts with : They are to blame for this.

Then: They are doing it.

Then: We have to stop them.

And: They must die.

"They" changes from Jews to immigrants to Arabs to Muslims to Mexicans, back to Jews etc.

in a crazy extremist, "fascist", nationalist pattern.

"They" are us, we are them.

Let us remember that.
