R ightwing groups have infiltrated NAACP chapters in California to create a fake rebellion against the organization’s call for a moratorium on new charters. The resolution passed by the National Civil Rights Group demands a halt until charters agree to be accountable. But leaders at the California state NAACP say this so-called “revolt” is fake news, and report that the main member who pushed these actions, Christina Laster, is paid by a Koch brothers right-wing group to infiltrate the organization and sow chaos. “These are people on the payroll of charter school associations & payroll of organizations that are trying to attack the greatest civil rights organization in the U.S.” Of course, swamp-creature U.S. Sec'y of Education Betsy DeVos voiced her support and the The Wall Street Journal published a flattering editorial about the move, describing it as a welcome “revolt.”
