'The Supreme Ct.  may be on the verge of issuing its most nakedly partisan ruling. A Republican-dominated court would be accepting obvious lies from the Trump admin. order to help the electoral fortunes of the Republican Party. It’s an alarming situation, both for the state of American democracy and the credibility of the Supreme Court. This morning, I want to explain how we got here:GOP senators by McConnell, stole a Supreme Court seat.  Conservative operatives decided that adding a citizenship question to the census could help the GOP, and these operatives persuadedTrump WH  to add the question; get  lied about the reasons for  adding it.  Federal courts, citing these lies, ruled against the administration. SCOTUS agreed to hear an appeal, and the five conservatives signaled during oral arguments that they may be willing to accept the administration’s lies.'

The history here is so damning, because it shows that the Trump administration has "discriminatory intent" against certain ethnic groups which should be enough to get the citizenship question thrown out. Yet at the oral argument, the five Republican-appointed justices seemed eager to wish away the evidence and accept the Trump administration's clearly false rationale.
