Knight First Amendment Institute staff attorney Carrie DeCell: “The government argues that Assange violated the Espionage Act by soliciting, obtaining, and then publishing classified information. That’s exactly what good national security and investigative journalists do every day.”

The Atlantic‘s Adam Serwer: Anyone rejoicing over Assange’s indictments is missing the forest for the trees. “Some of you are so eager to punish Assange for helping Trump that you’re willing to hand Trump a tool for prosecuting the reporters exposing his corruption. That’s plainly idiotic. Please stop and think. If publishing classified information is prosecutable, than any outlet that does so can be prosecuted.”

I stopped reading Alternet some time ago due to what I see as a right wing bias, along with its mix of trivia and things that matter. I am also seeing Common Dreams avoid Tulsi, equally unsettling, at least to me. Tulsi, like Jill Stein, has correctly called Julian a national hero.

I only disagree with your conclusions about Alternet. I get their feed daily, and they are coming out with cutting edge news with a strong progressive focus, and never a single right wing vantage point.

Even if you don't like Alternet, does that mean you close your mind off to such coverage? For example, all of the few stories on this subject mentioned Bernie and Warren, but only Alternet also brought up Oregon's Senator Wyden.

Spinning yet another conspiracy, are we?

I hardly see Common Dreams as anything but clear and open minded progressive journalism. This is what Thom Hartmann had to say about Alternet.
