Poll: Should The USA Ban Private Contractor Armies?

Seymour Hersh the Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist for The New Yorker Speaking at the Campus Progress journalism conference earlier this month, - said that the Bushites (my word) met recently at Cheney office to finagle ways to provoke Iran into war.

In an article recently, he says that the above-mentioned meeting took place soon after the Strait of Hormuz, where a U.S. carrier considered firing upon a few small Iranian speedboats. During the meeting in the Vice-President's office. “The subject was how to create a casus belli between Tehran and Washington,'" Hersh was reported as saying.

The plan Hersh said was that, they would dress up Navy Seals as Iranians, put them on counterfeit Iranian speedboats, and shoot at them. However, the idea, for using this faked attack to provoke an Iran war, was, in the end, rejected:

Hersh says there were many ideas put forth on how to inveigle Iran into a war. One of the ideas he says was to build in American shipyards Iranian boats, fill them with well armed Navy Seals and the next time one of our boats enter the Hersh Straits of Hormuz, provoke a shoot-out. This would be Americans killing Americans or at least shooting at them. Which is very much like the incidents reported in which Brits and Americans dressed as Arabs were caught trying to blow up a bomb ina residential neighborhood in Baghdad.

Quoting Hersh, “So I can understand the argument for not writing something that was rejected - uh maybe. My attitude always towards editors is they're mice training to be rats.”

He indicated that the American public if such an incident was reported, when such an incident was reported would fall completely, “jejune, if you know what that means.”

Bush was supposed to go to the Mid-East for a visit, so they could drum this up then.

Hersh is reported to have said, “Look, is it high school? Yeah. Are we playing high school with you know 5,000 nuclear warheads in our arsenal? Yeah we are. We're playing, you know, who's the first guy to run off the highway with us and Iran.”

Does this all sound familiar? If so recall I wrote about the Americans In Arab guise trying to keep the pot of violence going in Baghdad all the while pretending to be wanting to quell the violence. Was that one of the contractors trying to gain more contracts for oil, trying to scare even further if that was possible, the Iraqi’s to sign over oil royalties?

Weren’t there plans with Blair discussed to create an incident to ignite war with Iraq, which were also rejected in which Bush admitted that he knew that the chance of any finding of WMD’s was quite remote? Didn’t we guess this in an article back in 2001? Yes, I did.

However, guess what? There are still people out there and I talked to some of them last week, which think this is either all Clinton’s fault or Bill Clinton hired the first No-Bid Contractors-Halliburton. At that time, did he also hire Blackwater?

Blackwater now says they wish to create the largest private army on the planet. They want to hire out armies and large forces for the use of Fortune 500 companies. What possible use could/would Fortune 500 companies want or need private armies? To intimidate or get rid of those who complain about faulty products? To attack communities who do not subscribe to their services? To attack the National Guard of certain states? To attempt a variety of insurrections, state or city-by-city, Ala Red Dawn?

That the idea of huge private armies to be hired by corporations even being openly discussed is surprising enough. It shows just how the contempt for the lack of intelligence and the violence underlying some segments of American society is seemingly justified, and not just in the Red States. Doesn’t it seem somehow bizarre that the four peoples which had the most to gain by destroying fascism and intolerance, The people of the USA, Great Britain, Israel and Italy, now have seemingly, embraced it, many of them without even knowing what fascism was then and remains now?

Now, the rest can see what some of us saw and warned about so long ago, unfortunately, coming to pass.
