"Insurance for All", or "Health Care for All"?
I must say, I was very disappointed in Obama's truncated approach to Healthcare. Yesterday, 3/26/09, in his "open forum" he again renounced Single-payer systems, and there was NO word at all against the obvious problem in the middle of this, the "Middle Man" so to speak, namely the INSURANCE COMPANIES themselves. Along with Big Pharma. THEY are the problem here, clear as day.
Instead of speaking of "Insurance for all" it should be framed as "Healthcare for all" !
Let the government insure us, as a Basic Human Right. They are already great at pencil-pushing, and then standards can be set and limits of expenditure controled, both for services and drugs.
Let those in the Insurance industry stick to homeowners' and car insurance (even there, they can't be trusted to pay out as promised!) and those that lost their jobs here can work for the government instead. Screw the big CEO's and their astronomical salaries and bonuses! Like I said , THEY are part of the PROBLEM, not the Solution! Get 'em out of there!
Clearly, there are still waaay too many Neocons left in Obama's administration to get the really important changes done that we all desperately need.
