A wide ranging 64 minute interview with the bold speaking former chief of staff to U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell who is now an a adjunct professor of government at the College of William & Mary.
The title quote, "It's not a coup, it's worse," refers to his reply when I asked him about the possibility of a military takeover in the USA, like has happened in South America. His reply was not future tense. It was present tense!

The transcript for this interview is being worked on-- should be ready within the next 7-10 days.
very rough notes from the interview -- mostly my questions-- to pique your interest.

Rob: Can you tell me about the Colin Powell talk about WMDs  at the UN, which inspired me to start opednews-- it was such BS.

 (long answer and discussion)

Rob: Now Cheney was involved too".

Rob: Do you think that it is possible for it to be regular that the CIA can lie to the Secretary of state?

Rob: Are you saying that Cheney was a liar or worse?

Rob: Let's talk about neocons and PNAC in terms of the Obama Administration and the potential Bishop Romney administration.

Rob: But delisting MEK from the terrorist list was a move by the Obama administration. Are you calling that a neocon move?

Rob: So, the Neocons push for actions that

When you say "We are becoming Israelized in terms of our national security," you're talking about our own security, right, not that the US is  being controlled by Israel?

Rob: And let's talk about israel's effects upon US international policy and security policy.

"THis is a state that was founded by atheists and socialists."

Rob: PRior to the Iraq war there were about 300-500 terrorists in the world who wanted to and could do damage to the US. Now...

Rob: What are your thoughts about Iran?

Rob: So, you don't think there's much difference between Obama's and Romney's policies, but you are concerned about his neocon advisors who could become appointees. So what will be the effect of these neocon advisors on Romney's policies?

Larry talks about Cuba.

"I'm also very concerned about the military"

Over $1.2 trillion annual budget when you add intelligence, homeland security, VA". to military budget.

Rob: Rachel Maddow  wrote a book, Drift, about how the military is out of control, that no-one can really control it.

Rob: Do the Joint Chiefs of Staff even have control of the military?

"The insidious increase in power and increase in control over foreign policy is very dangerous."

Rob: "It's not a coup, it's worse." What is it you are referring to?

"You don't have a seizure of power by the military, you have what george marshall said" "Mr President we have militarized the decision making process.""

Rob: We've had two presidents who have handed over their power, saying they'll ask the generals what to do.

"James madison wrote, the closest we are to tyranny is when one man can decide on war."

Rob: What if there was a candidate with the courage to stand up and say "I will be the one who decides, not the generals." how would the generals, the officers, the Chiefs of Staff respond?

Rob: and JFK was assassinated (after he stood up to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Rob: Do you think Obama has similar concerns in making decisions that involve standing up to the Joint Chiefs of Staff?

"the president is trapped""  No-one's intellect matches the complexity that matches the challenges of the foreign policy and security issues we face.

Rob: Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Rob: What about bottom up vs. top down changes in the world?

"manage vs scramble-- Royal Dutch Petroleum identifies two scenarios for the future."

"I see it being a very painful process, and frankly a lot of blood being shed as the bottom occupies the top."   There will be a time and it will come over night and the majority of the world will be there, when they will say, "it's finished. " And the leadership will be there.

We are going through a period of very neary anarchy and chaos...

Rob:  You said, "There will be a time and it will come over night and the majority of the world will be there, when they will say, "it's finished."

"When we suddenly wake up one morning and find out the middle class is fed up, that the oligarchy, the corporate powers in this country are not conducive to their interests."

people can't grasp what the corporate leadership has done raping

Rob: In Argentina they went into the streets when they shut the banks. In Venezuela they did it when the gas prices were raised.

"I was speaking to a congressman discussing the elimination of Posse Comitatus. this is about occupy wall street. "

Rob:  Do you give an credence to the FEMA camps?

Rob: Is it possible to create a globalization that does not favor multi-national corporations?

Rob: What's your take on how different things will be whether Obama holds or Bishop Romney wins the presidency?
