   PAST EVENT

Location: On Your Computer

The "Public Voice Salon" is a roundtable discussion being aired on public access TV, both in Hudson County, NJ on Cablevision, and in Manhattan on Time Warner Cable TV, every Thursday at 8-9 PM in Hudson County and 5-6 PM in Manhattan.

The mysterious Mystic Wizard has been a panelist on all but a few of the programs.

Can YOU guess which panelist he is??? There will be absolutely no prizes for the correct answer.

The TV show is available online every Thurday at 5 PM at this web site: http://mnn1.mnntv.org/OnAir/flash/live.html. Unfortunately it will not be repeated during the week.

Below is an article which appeared in a local Hoboken, NJ publication.

FYI The recent Mayor of Hoboken asked for the Wizard's autograph at a social gathering which they both attended.

Certain other friends of the Wizard found the program too boring to endure until the Wizard finally made his spiel towards the end.

You decide....:)

PS If you actually find yourself in Manhattan today:

Join us for a screening of our innovative, democratic intervention in corporate media--the Pubic Voice Salon--in the iconic neighborhood of Greenwich Village, synonomous with freedom of expression and intellectual values.

Along with being a founding member of the Yippies, the group that put a spirit of fun and playfulness into the counterculture, Jim has been a courageous community activist who, most recently, took on the powers-that-be by running against Christine Quinn for the NYC Council.

Among others, Jim is joined on our democratic citizen panel by newly-elected Village Independent Democrat officer Bill Hastings, with his ever-pointed political critiques, the Filipina poet Maria Theresa, and Gi Gi, a down-to-earth spiritual guide who draws wisdom from her important work in 12 step programs.

On this show you'll learn something about the politics of meaning philosophy of Michael Lerner, a word or two about Paulo Freire--who believed we ought to educate for a world in which it's easier to love--and the plan of Voronado Corporation to build a tall skyscraper next to the Empire State Building, an act that will forever banal-ize Manhattan's beloved spectacular skyline. You'll also hear Jim's call for compassionate political dialogue--preciently issued before Tuscon--including, in a moment of humor, how he deals with the "Tea Party crazies" he encounters.

Come and help us celebrate the re-birth of citizen voices in the public space! A glass of wine is 5 bucks, and appetizers half price during happy hour.

Where: IN2010, a Japanese bar and bistro at 15 Greenwich St., off of 6th ave. Near the a,c,e w4 stop, and 1 at christorpher.
When: 2/3, at 5 pm
