I read this this morning and for some reason started thinking about Socialists, Jeff Koons and Lakotas.

When wealth is the goal

suffering is the prize

There should be enough work and ample remuneration for it that neighbors tend to, minister to, provide for and respect neighbors.

The idea of the commons captured my imagination as a child through movies and stories of colonial America. A place to mingle and graze an oxen.

When wealth is the goal

suffering is the prize

The Lakota man gave away all he had

the next day he had more

A socialist, a sofa and a banker walked into a bar

the banker walked out with the sofa

the socialist danced until he could dance no more

Van Gogh's ear sold at auction

The collector placed it next to a Koons

The Collector's wife thought that Jeff had

a large penis for a man

his size

When wealth is the goal

suffering is the prize

The crowd roared hysterically

Paul had made another

spectacular tackle

Paul's brain was already

forgetting

When the new prison was built in town

the Minister and his wife felt safer

When wealth is the goal

suffering is the prize

Gary and Jules played

racquetball

every Thursday

promptly at eleven

Gary asked Jules

what he thought

about the lead

in the cities water

Jules told Gary that

they had always

used bottled water

at home and reminded

Gary that neither

he nor Gary were

on city water anyway

Gary asked Jules

how his boy was doing

at Stanford

Jules said that

he would graduate

summa cum laude

in the fall

When wealth is the goal

suffering is the prize
