If we discard all the nonsense of the last week : Obama's speeches, Putin's oped, MSM howling, senators and others smirking and making ugly noises, Kerry lying and Al- Assad giving idiotic interviws- we are left with something real- 1500 people dead from the chemical attack. Somebody wanted them to be dead, somebody needed them to be dead. Turned out that somebody is us. Of course, our criminal government needed to have a reason to attack Syria directly after the instigation of the Civil War proved not to be enough. But in the democracy it is not enough for the government to be criminal - it needs a mandate from the people for the criminal action. As such they needed something they could sell themselves as rescuers and punishers rather than the killers and criminals they really are. Nothing could be more convenient than gassing women and children with the subsequent appeal to the 'loving' American public. If Obama could demonstrate on TV a death from sarin on a volunteer he would do that eagerly.
And now we have a diplomatic brouhaha, the US public is off the hook, we feel good about ourselves, MSM can continue howling and laughing hysterically and ..the dead are dead, all 1500 of them; who cares?
NONE of the so- called leaders mentioned an investigation of the murder, NONE even mentioned any hospitals to be delivered to the people of Syria to protect from such things and treat the sufferers. NONE promised hospitals to protect from ANYTHING. NONE promised the American or any other public to protect civilians from ours or any other attack, nobody gives a damn if the real perpetrators are apprehended.
I have news for you- in the democracy the buck stops with the people; we are the guilty party- those 1500 people were killed in our name, no matter who did it, no matter in what way, no matter how it was done. We killed them.
Paraphrasing E. Hemingway,
- And how do we punish for homicide these days?
