"I say "this is my latest book for in all and I will not write again any book'. Because I can't live experiment during I write novel. Yes I write and I like it but I must to live experiments, too. If I don't have enough experiment I can't write."

THIS IS AN EMOTION WHAT I CAN'T TALK ABOUT

Famous writer Paul Auster talked to Buket Sahin from Hurriyet newspaper (Turkish).

"Do you write that you lived events or your novels evaluate to something which lived by yourself?" Sahin asked.

"No, my books are pieces of influencing which one-way. It comes from my subconscious. This is an emotion what I can't talk about. This is related with feeling, I think."

"You are a fanatic of Brooklyn city. Where would you live if Brooklyn was not?"

"This is unthinkable for me. I will 65, about 2 weeks later. I live in Brooklyn for 32 years. This means half of my life. Brooklyn is where every kind of people live in. It is a big city and yes it has some good or bad features, like all big cities."

"What does Nobel awards mean for you?"

"I don't know how Nobel committee award books and writers, I don't what is measure. Sometimes good writers, sometimes bad writers are awarded with Nobel. I always like every years that wondering that who won it. Awards are not so important for writers, according to me. The art is not an Olympiad race. Proust, Kafka and Joyce are the greatest writers of century 20 for me"

"We live chaos all around the World. Middle East, Spring of Arabic etc. System and morals must have been edited again. Some morals must have been renamed and introduced again. Economic system, social system and ecology must be structured again. We need much more justice and equality. Poor people are much more than rich people."

 "We live in communication age. Stalin had killed 10 million soviet farmers in 1930's. Because, communication web all around the world wasn't then. We can take photos of slaughters with even cell phones today. Savageness of some US soldiers in Iraq prisons have been come up with these photos/visuals."

"I am sure that Barack Obama will win again. Republican candidates are prostrate. Obama have brought important changes as other presidents couldn't do who I have seen till now. He tries the most difficult politics. He survived automotive sector (GM, Chrysler). He survived with state budget and money turned back to budget. But anyone praise Obama with this. He blocked petrol clarion line between Canada and Texas. He interfered to Congress for an urgent decision. Maybe everyone will attack to Obama because of this decision but this decision was necessary."

DON'T BE WRITER

What do you advice for people who want to be writer?

"Don't do. Don't be writer. If you be writer you will live moneyless and alone. If they (people who want to be writer) listen my advices they will give up easily but if they can't give up, so this means, being writer is in their inside and they can be writer."

Auster said Mustafa Kemal Ataturk (Establisher of Turkish Republic) was an extraordinary leader. "Ataturk is on of the most important leaders of century 20."

Paul Auster said he liked Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet, too.

I DON'T GO TO TURKEY

"I decline coming to Turkey because of writers and journalists in prisons, despite some invitations. We democrats avoided from Bush. We avoided from Dick Cheney that must be judged as war criminal. What happens in Turkey! Turkey is the state that I care mostly about. I don't go to countries what don't have democrat laws, despite they invite me. I decline invitations from China. I protest these (Turkey and China) governments."
