The Truth of Genesis: Old Earth Creationism is a Bigger Falsehood than YEC.

Young Earth Creationism (YEC) denies scientific reality. Just as evolution is the "god" of atheism, a 10,000 year old Earth and "no death before Adam" are the "gods" of YEC's. But we have already addressed the foolishness of Creation Science in two earlier articles. This time, we expose the false doctrine of old Earth Creationism.

What all OEC's have in common is that they go wrong in trying to describe the Fourth Day. Theistic evolution and Day/Age teach that the Fourth Day was millions of Earth years long, while the Gap theorists and Ruin/Restoration believers teach that all the celestial bodies had been created earlier, and God only removed the cloud cover (or something of that nature), so that only then did Moses get to see the stars in the heavens.

Both positions are misrepresentations of scripture. If the days were long periods of time, did God have the visions which He was showing to Moses on "fast forward"? For Moses to see what events were occurring, anything that was happening would have to be put on high speed in order for Moses to see it in one day. So it's really an idiotic explanation. If each day was millions of years, wouldn't it take Moses millions of years to see it all?

"For in six days, the Lord made heaven, the Earth, the sea, and all there in them is". When God told Israel to keep a feast for seven days, did God mean seven million years? The feast must be kept every year, but it's yearly duration is only seven days. Why are some OEC's saying that each day was an extended time period, rather than a 24-hr day? Actually, each day was 12-hrs, because no work was done at night. OEC's are just grasping for straws.

The "gap" and Ruin/Restoration believers can't explain the Fourth Day either. Even though they may accept each day in chapter one as being a 24-hr day, they have to somehow explain how the Earth was in existence for millions of years without the rest of the other celestial bodies in the universe. To solve that problem, they say that God merely removed cloud cover on the Fourth Day. This is another ridiculous explanation, that doesn't fit the scriptures.

If God only removed the clouds, why did God say "Let there be lights in the firmament", if the stars were already there? Moses wrote down what he both saw and heard. So what did Moses see and hear? God was conveying the creation and history of our Earth and universe to Moses, but not in the sequence that current Creationism teaches.
