"The Ascendancy of a Criminal Financial Elite"
by W. Finnerty Wed Aug 15, 2012 08:28

The above subject ("The Ascendancy of a Criminal Financial Elite") was one of a number of issues raised in an e-mail sent yesterday to a group of professional Advocates who work for Region 2 of the Citizens Information Service of the Republic of Ireland, which includes the Athlone area (considered by some to be the heart of Ireland).

The full text of the e-mail used can be viewed at:
http://www.humanrightsireland.com/AthloneCitizensInformationService/14August2012/Email.htm

As can be seen at the above www address, Republic of Ireland Chief Justice Susan Denham and Prime Minister Enda Kenny TD were among those included in the recipient lists of the e-mail in question.

Mostly for the benefit of Republic of Ireland Finance Minister Michael Noonan TD, the following quote (by Professor James Petras) was also included in the e-mail text:

"A recent report by a United Nations Special Committee on Money Laundering found that US and European banks laundered over $300 billion a year, including $30 billion just from the Mexican drug cartels."

$300 billion a year, is well over $1 billion per working day!!

"Trillion-dollar tax-evaders, billionaire financial swindlers and multi-billionaire money launderers are almost never sent to jail."

"
The first defence of the majority is to resist "elite change' and to conserve the remnants of the welfare state. The goal of "conservative' resistance will be to transform the entire corrupt legal system of "functional criminality' into a system of "equality before the law'. That will require a fundamental shift in political power, at the local and regional level, from the bankers' boardrooms to neighbourhood and workplace councils, from compliant elite-appointed judges and regulators to real representatives elected by the majority groaning under our current system of injustice."

All of the statements in quotes above are from an August 5th 2012 article by Professor James Petras (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Petras) which can be viewed in full at: http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=32220
