Partisanship and Personality vs Intelligence and Survival

Message Rafe Pilgrim
The mantra of "Hope and Change" has proved to be just another banner line of a political con.  Only the style is contested.  The substance is a mirror of the abuse suffered by the electorate from 2001 through 2008, then maintained into 2012.  This presidential campaign has become nothing more than a personality contest, the pertinent questions of war or peace, economic abuse or a future of promise for our children all obfuscated while we indulge in personality points, "lesser-evil" propositions, partisan bullshit and utter nonsense.
.
It's time for the American people to wake up to reality, to discard the lead boots with the Republican and Democrat brand names marching lockstep over the same cliff, and to trash the personality contest in exchange for a conscious and intelligent assessment of the wretched course we've been put upon for the last thirty years by the captains of both major parties and their moneyed power-masters -- and then to grasp the essential qualities we need in our leadership if we are to survive in a sane and decent world.  Those qualities are not more personality points, not the indenture of partisanship, but Intelligence, Goodwill, Courage and Genuine Decency.
.
Need some models, some voices?  Try these:  Kucinich, Alan Grayson, Rocky Anderson, Nader, Chris Hedges, Noam Chomsky, Bill Moyers, and I won't reject yours so long as they aren't prancing about on a partisan stage acting the "warm, sincere, human being," while commanding wars and imposing economic suffering on our people.
.
Got it?  Wake up to the super lousy job plastic partisanship has done by America and the world for the past thirty years, then muster the intelligence and determination to insist upon capable leadership based on demonstrated capabilities and decency rather than the warmer managed smile, the grander raised finger, the calculated on-camera pat on a child's head.
.
But of course we have a choice, but mind now what the alternative consequences are:  (1) We can opt for a new and different course to select our leaders based upon actual leadership capabilities and demonstrated decency, or (2) We can persist in personality worship and partisan rigor.  This second choice is the easier, but the course it dictates is predetermined:  more of the same disease track to the death of anything resembling a real "America" and even actual "Humanity."  Yes, of course, the first choice is more difficult because it requires the discomfort of trashing habit, then standing up and for what's actually right in spite of the considerable opposition of partisan zombies and personality worshippers.
.
We decide, you included.  And may God help our sorry asses and Humanity's if we don't get this right.

Leaving behind a treacherous government now addicted to perpetual war, its limitlessly greedy and power-lusting masters, as well as the retarded albeit smirky Republicans and their evermore clonish Democrat colleagues, a braindead electorate (more...)
