Every ancient Religion had a Feminine/Carnal/Earthcentric component. However, somehow early Christianity managed to subsume this aspect into its male dominated, deceptively asexual, guyfest. The early church adulterated, attenuated and apologized the message of Jesus to the point that he now appears to be an alien from another planet. If he were truly his father's son why would he be so silent and apathetic about the destruction of his Dad's Creation?
Oh...I forgot -- Heaven is the thing! We can all act like beasts here on Earth as long as we strive for Heaven. I don't buy any of this for a second. This is all the unmistakable handiwork of The Jesus Thieves. Institutional, Doctrinal, Dogmatic Christianity ripped Jesus off a long, long time ago and they keep him locked away and bring him out festooned in one or another of their pompous, selfish costumes to serve whichever of their ugly causes du jour.
They've been bringing him out lately, dressed inappropriately as per usual, to fortify themselves while they pummel women and gay folks. It's interesting that a man that was all about love while alive can become so judgmental and cruel when dead.
A few years back a gay friend of mind confided in me that she was in a very dark place because of her sexuality. This came as a very big surprise because she was such a vibrant, creative free spirit. Unfortunately for her she was also a cradle Catholic. She loved her church. She loved Mass. They really didn't love her and they told her so. Although she knew that she knew in her heart that Jesus, who she had loved with her whole being, loved her, she couldn't get the "Church's" opinion of her and her loved one out of her mind. It was so heartbreaking to see this person with so much beauty and love inside of her be so brutalized by an institution that she loved. This is evil.
Newt Romney...I mean Mitt Perry...no...it's Sara Santorum...anyway, these folks, Republicans, as a group or gaggle are very unfortunate. It is so very unfortunate for America and Jesus that they have chosen to parade him out in support of their dark agendas. It should be the responsibility of all of us Americans that cherish the right to love and be loved to absolutely, once and for all, demolish this garbage spewing wing of the Republican Party, I know that all Republicans aren't evil--I live with one (she's a CPA), at the voting booth in a few days. I sincerely believe that if all of us Progressive/Liberals showed up for Obama this time it would be the beginning of the end of this Right Wing Religious Horror as a political force.
If you have issues with President Obama or current party politics -- start the Revolution after November 6th. As a self-employed business strategist and tactician for many years it makes more sense to start a revolution when you have a chance of winning. Emotion, honor and ideology are all great things but winning and being able to revel in our emotions and ideology with honor would be really something.
