Obama began his term in office by widening Bush's war. He decided that it was his right to target anyone he chooses for remote assassination. The charges were never presented to the countries whose airspace we entered illegally, and the person targeted was never put on trial. The individuals were sentenced to death by decree of one man, the President of the United States. Usually, he was assassinated along with his neighbors, family members, or whoever happened to be standing near the man. We not only sentenced him to death, but we Americans sentenced his neighbors to death. All of this violates our Constitution, which has long been forgotten ever since Bush decided to drop the first bombs on Afghanistan.
Obama was given a blank check to wage war at will. The whole purpose of our government has become one of war. The government could be educating our young, exploring space, aiding the poor, building infrastructure, switching over to renewable energy to keep global warming at bay, but no, we want war endlessly.
When one speaks of free college, the "conservative" naysayers tell you that "nothing is free". Really? What about all those free drone bombs, free nuclear weapons that Obama is building? These are trillions of dollars. Why wouldn't conservatives complain about these expenses? They seem to want to ramp up the belligerent talk rather than think about the cost.
Instead of waging an oil war, why not convert to renewable energy? The conservatives then say that it was not about oil. "Look", they say, "the United States never imported that oil". They are right. We stole the oil for the sake of ExxonMobil and BP to make record breaking profits. The oil was once used to sustain the people of Iraq; now it is used to sustain ExxonMobil and BP while Iraqis wallow in poverty.
Trump has spoken of torture, which also violates our Constitution, and Hillary will continue Obama's endless wars. The Democratic National Convention has drummed Sanders out of the race, and now in order to vote for a peace candidate who is interested in the climate, a person has to turn to the Green Party. Libertarians do not support war, but they are not strong on the climate.
