Lazy, Taxpayer Abusing U.s. Postal Workers

Message Steven G. Erickson
I was up visiting friends in Hinsdale, New Hampshire, to not be up there again for some time. The post office there is claimed to be the oldest continuously running US Post Office in the United States. I absolutely need to get a bill mailed out and to use a USPS money order. I arrived at ten minutes before closing, 11:50 AM EST, and the window was closed and I could hear at least two postal workers talking with nothing being moved around or being done. They closed up early. These postal workers were ripping you off, not working when they are supposed to be, not serving the public and further showing the arrogance of federal employees and the federal government. They wasted my time and prevented me from conducting business that I needed to.

I was at the Keene, NH, Post Office about 6 months ago, 3 postal workers were not at their stations as a line developed out the door. An elderly man using a cane, started to get vocal, about being in pain, waiting for lazy, arrogant Postal Workers to feel like doing their jobs. A citizen "going postal", or just mildly complaining about this citizen abuse could be subject to arrest for exercising Free Speech.

Maybe two decades, or so, ago, the Postmaster of the Monson, Massachusetts, Post Office was on vacation. Invitations to a high school graduation party were put in the mail drop box in front of the Monson Post Office. A band was hired, tent for large outdoor gathering, chairs, tables were rented, large amounts of food was bought, temporary workers hired for the gathering. Almost no one showed up because the invitations sat in a blue USPS mail box in front of the Post Office, not delivered. Those who were in charge didn't empty the drop boxes for the entire time the Monson Postmaster was on vacation. Postal workers did little to nothing. Instead of firing the lazy postal workers, the Postmaster was suspended, and may have lost her job. The parents who threw the graduation party where almost no knew of it beforehand, considered suing the un-sue-able, the USPS.

I knew a Vietnam War Veteran who came back from war, drug addicted and alcoholic. He became an East Longmeadow, Massachusetts Postal Worker drinking on the job, and then very heavily driving his own vehicle home to Monson, Mass, where he sold his house, not to kill his neighbor using a shotgun for the neighbor's dog going number 2 in his yard. He told me that those who drive the standard, small USPS mail delivery trucks were required to chock the wheels and turn off the vehicles at every stop. USPS workers realized that if they started the trucks, then turned them off, started them again, and repeated this process in one spot, the battery could be killed in the truck and they could get overtime waiting for the truck to be towed. Soon there were dead postal delivery trucks and gaggles of overtime paid out. That is also theft of your tax dollars by lazy, and out of control federal employees.

City and State Police, and even the FBI, aren't immune from this same type of laziness and arrogance. I used to frequent a known cop bar in Springfield, Massachusetts, called "The Ale House". Poker machines seized in gambling raids ended up at the cop bar. Gamble at the cop bar using the confiscated poker machine, the bartender at the cop bar would pay you out your illegal gambling winnings. Talking to another bartender of that cop bar, he told me that Springfield Police Officers would continue to investigate murders they already solved to get overtime while they ate, relaxed, and hung out with their families at their homes. Drunk driving was okay for officers and patrons of the cop bar, driving home saying you were at the Ale House, was a get of jail free card. Springfield Mass Police Officers would collect "protection" from prostitutes sitting on 3 high dairy crates in 24 hour convenience stores, paid in oral sex, in the back milk coolers as I witnessed as a clerk at a convenience store doing my college homework 3rd shift. I was asked to be a look out. Frequently Blacks and Hispanics were brought out to the convenience store dumpster and beaten bloody to keep them in line and were threatened with being charged with felony assaulting officers if they wished to lodge complaints. A Springfield Mass, equivalent to a DEA agent allegedly busted a girlfriend with a little pot to set up her boyfriend, an owner of a hot red convertible that the cop wanted to drive by confiscating by using the girlfriend to set up the boyfriend, owner of the sports car for false arrest and confiscation of his car.

Civilian Oversight of police, state, and federal employees would help solve this problem. So would a people's grand jury system.

I highlight more of this type of behavior here on this blog. I post documentaries and video here.
