How many times in your life have you said, "I'll bet you a million dollars that _____?"
No one ever really held you to it, did they? They knew that you didn't have a million dollars and most likely never would.
But the hedge funds bet trillions of dollars that they are just as able to pay back as you are able to cover your bets. There is more money in outstanding debts now than four times the entire GDP of the entire world. They can't pay that back.
Now imagine that Congress passes a law that you need to cover every million dollar bet you've made in your life. Absurd? Of course it is. Congress wouldn't do that.
Instead they've passed a law that you have to cover the hedge fund bets. You, and your children, and your grandchildren. Absurd? Of course it is.
Only a corporate occupied Congress would be so outrageously blatant in extortion. Face it, they no longer even pretend to represent us. The first step to recovery is to admit that we have a problem.
