Scalia is against "homosexual sodomy".
Thank goodness, we, heterosexuals, can continue to be Happy Sodomites without interference of the Supreme Court. Anyone that has ever, out of simple curiosity of course, visited an establishment that sells sexually related merchandise knows that those places cater to Sodomites, all persuasions of Sodomites. As a matter of fact when I visited one of these places, out of curiosity of course, the place was full of women, embarrassed truck drivers and college athletes.
Sodomy has been a hot button topic since biblical times. Ever since Lot offered his daughters to some horny messengers and they declined his offer -- the messengers had their sights set on old Lot, sodomy has been a no-no; Thomas Jefferson suggested castration for Sodomites instead of death -- he was trying to be nicer to Sodomites. In 2003 the Supreme Court struck down the Texas same-Sex Sodomy Law.
I'm getting off the point here. Justice Scalia is talking about this in reference to same sex marriage. Apparently same sex marriage will come before the court this term and as should be expected of any Right Wing dude with power, he connects same sex marriage with the imagery of Male on Male anal sex in the minds of the Right Wing Base. Unfortunately for Judge Scalia, the word sodomy encompasses all anal and oral sex, not just homosexual sex. I've always been curious as to if touching someone's butt during intercourse constitutes sodomy?
I would imagine that none of us wants to be labeled a Sodomite. But, if having participated in conversations about sex for over forty years can be considered research -- my research shows that the vast majority of the subjects in my research are Sodomites: lots and lots of good patriotic heterosexual Americans.
Can ex-Presidents be Sodomites? I betcha quite a few of them were. I live in Lyndon Johnson's hometown. I don't know if folksy anecdotes count in my research. However, in talking to some folks around here it appears that President Johnson was in fact a Sodomite as was President Clinton. Richard Nixon was called a c**ksucker more times than I can remember. Although I can't see President Eisenhower...well, you get the point.
Seriously, it is disturbing that in 2012 a Supreme Court Judge is enabled and compelled to make homophobic, dishonest, propagandist public statements prior to a Presidential election with the intent of influencing that election.
P.s. Anyone up for the formation of a movement called "Happy Sodomites For Obama"?
