Food For Thought

Follow Me on Twitter     Message Burl Hall

As it is on many mornings, I awoke with an article on my mind. Sometimes the articles I write appear to be separate beings. But, then, as I get older I see the patterns. Thus it is that I think of the Blog Talk Radio Show. How do my wife and I reveal the patterns of our lives as human beings to the listeners? How do we go about helping to heal the alienation of people on this planet?

Religion originates in the French religere, meaning to connect. What does that mean? What is the primary purpose in my writing? Is it not to connect to others? Can the radio show be utilized to help foster a sense of connection in terms of lifestyles, developing community, or building bottom-up decision making schematics. It has been said that the primary effect of our modern culture on the individual is alienation. How is it we kindle a sense of belonging? According to psychologist Abraham Maslow, belonging is the first need that must be met for a human being. This need is developed at the mother's breast.

Let our words feed you as your words feed us. It's all food. Even the term semen is derived from the term sema and means food. "Your words are food for thought" meaning your words are seminal to a conception within me. As Lao Tzu says in the Tao Te Ching, "The entire universe makes love."

Yet, today we have mothers and fathers enslaved in the corporate system while children are oftentimes being raised by corporate institutions such as "Kiddie Care." Meanwhile the child nurses a glass bottle with a plastic nipple. Where is the sound of Mother's heart, that rhythmic beat that was heard in the uterus?

How does that loss affect his ability to hear the rhythmic songs of his Mother Nature whose voice has been drowned by monstrous noises of planes, cars, superhighways and construction. What's worse is that Her voice has been drowned out by the noise in our own heads generated by a long list of things to do or worries about paying bills.

We are governed not be men or women. We are governed by fear. We are like an adolescent afraid of moving out on his own. But move out we must for our parents are sociopathic users and abusers of our mind and body. We need to return to the breast of our real mother and get off the glass / metallic bottle.

Plastic and metal is destined to be our life. These are manifest to a child in his education, his toys, his friendships, his everything. There are some kids who see a tree and think they have fallen off the edge of the Earth they are conditioned by the system so well. Yes, the Earth is about cement, televisions, and computer screens, isn't it? Is it any wonder that song writer and singer Jimi Hendrix often sang critically about the plastic world we live in?

Is this ok?

I don't think so, nor does my wife. This is why we are doing the radio show. But, expect it to be different for we are not shallow, anorexic females sitting tight legged in front of a camera, nor are we perfectly dressed men wearing the same style tie and suit as the president.

No, what we want to give the listener is our self and, in turn, we want the listener to make changes in which she will see her true self mirrored. We wish to foster a real world by stripping away the corporate clothing of this culture to the point that we stand naked in accordance to who we really are. Thus it is that we see Nature as a strip-tease artist. Yes, like Her, we shall remove every layer of clothing until we stand naked in our Truth. Dare you go there with us? Can we see the beauty behind your make up and layers of clothing? Can you get past the shyness created by your shame to get to this point? If your heart even hints at a desire to join us in this journey, then we welcome you.

Let's create a real world in which people are empowered in accordance to who they are in their natural essence.
