The reason why there is such a push to make more people in the middleclass poor is because poor people have no voice nor the time for protest.

I do not believe protest or marches have the effect it had back in the day because the factors that made historical events like the march on Washington successful has been coopted by how news and events are disseminated on modern digital media.

When America came face to face with the cruelty of racism, poverty and injustice on their network televisions during the original march on Washington the three networks broadcasting events took away the ability of Americans to continue to lie to themselves about who we were and the violence we sanctioned as a Nation against disenfranchised Black citizens.

Today's modern media gives stealth to the harmfulness of racism and poverty. GOP TV (Fox News) and all corporate media has reduced any poor people's march to a march for food stamps or some kind of cynical protest for reparations. To hide the greed of the rich within the matrix of the Southern Strategy of hatred has been wickedly brilliant and effective by the Republican Party.

Poor people are so caught up in the chaos of just trying to survive the cruelty of being poor and surviving in a country that seems to be more concerned about the welfare of the rich then the struggling poor masses.

We need to fight until the last man or woman standing to address the systematic/deliberate impoverishing of large segments of society but we need new innovative 21st century tactics. Singing "old negro spirituals" and asking for understanding and relief from people who cannot or refuse to hear you over the centuries is a flawed strategy.
