I read an anecdotal story awhile back about President Obama chiding Rupert Murdoch for Fox News disrespecting his wife and daughters. Shortly thereafter he appeared on Fox News - something he had previously refused to do. This has bothered me. Watching the way things are playing out in Washington - it's starting to make sense. President Obama may be on the other team - not the Republicans, the Tea Party or the Conservatives - "The American Dream Team."
Would you allow some Australian marauder to disrespect your wife and children and then forgive all and attend his party - I wouldn't. This is really starting to get weird and ugly. All the folks that vociferously label us Liberals and Progressives as un-American, immoral and Godless are starting to look a lot like Tony Montana. These folks aren't pushing and snorting cocaine - they're stoned out of their minds on "The American Dream."
John Boehner is so wacked-out of his mind on it that he can't even finish an interview without blubbering. How in the heck are we supposed to keep our young people off of drugs when a bunch of the folks running the country are so obviously high and consequently making bad choices? We need to start another "Just Say No" campaign. This "American Dream" thing is ripe for a National Lampoon movie treatment. America is failing and our leaders are "Dreaming?"
Actually, the only individual that truly fits the "Tony Montana" moniker is Glenn Beck. He's the head pusher of the twisted, psychedelic "American Dream" being peddled on America's street corners by Fox News. Unfortunately for American youth, his operation has expanded beyond the boundaries of News Corporation and is being dealt in bookstores, universities, concert arenas and on websites. He may be the only pusher in the history of this country smart enough to get away with dealing to thousands, openly, at a National Monument.
We need to start building treatment centers now - coming down from this drug is going to be very painful.
