Awhile back, Vice Presidential Candidate, Paul Ryan spoke with Glenn Beck 'The Rampant Fool' on his radio program. They appeared to be in agreement that Progressivism and German Intellectuals are cancerous. Intellectuals are naturally a blemish and scourge on the land, German intellectuals being particularly scourgy.
However, Glenn is of German heritage. But, to his credit, he is not an intellectual. Boy, that must give him inner peace knowing that he doesn't have to claim kinship with Albert Einstein or Goethe. Therefore he can claim kinship with Joseph Goebbels and Dieter Hallervorden.
Ryan did mention "the Austrians" favorably -- this probably has something to do with "The Sound Of Music". Austrian intellectuals must be in favor with Glenn and Paul because of the allAmericanness of the Von Trapp family. I can see, empirically, how one could naturally be attracted to "Austrians" -- Julie Andrews and the rest of the featured cast of non-Germanic actors do make one feel really good about Austria and Austrians.
As far as Progressivism being "a cancer" -- this is understandable also. It has metastasized in the hearts and souls of many, many kind, loving, generous Americans of German heritage. My grandmother and daughter being two that readily come to mind. My daughter is pretty fiery. My grandmother was gentle and kind, she would probably just say to Glenn and Paul, "Octa lieber mein yunge dummkopfe".
