Hello Michelle.
I want to thank you for your insightful commentary regarding the unfortunate incident which took place at the Wal-Mart store where Jdimytai Damour was murdered.
I believe that your commentary only scratched the surface on how insensitive and object oriented a society we have become. I suppose that we could go further down into how we have become a consumer society where life is cheap.
I can picture the enamored parents saying to their child as they present the blood-stained toy to the child "Look, Honey, I only had to crack three ribs and break two noses to get this for you. Merry Christmas and good will towards men."-
But what I found difficult to swallow, although not at all surprised, was the disingenuous attitude of Wal-Mart which disclaimed any responsibility for the tragedy at all. Although they had been warned ahead of time by the local police to expect a riot condition the store took no precautions and dismissed poor Jdimytai as a "part time"- worker, not eligible for any benefits. They were not only the protagonist in this situation they believe that they can disavow any responsibility for their criminal negligence. To them life is indeed cheap. Thanks for letting me vent.
As so many of my fellow patriots it is very difficult to come out and talk about what we stand for.
I consider myself as a patriod who is very deeply concerned about the direction that this country has taken.
