An Open Letter to Gore's Supporters

Dearest brothers and sisters,
I do understand your passion to persuade Mr. Al Gore to run for this upcoming presidential election. And I do understand why you want him to run -- he is a strong political figure whose stance on issues paralleled with most Americans (Independents and Democrats).
He is anti-war, pro-environment, pro-civil rights, defender of US constitution, and very vocal against the current administration. However, what if he will not run my brothers and sisters?
I hope that you will consider the following: If issues are what really matters, there is one presidential candidate in the Democratic party, whose views are very similar to Mr. Al Gore. He stood up against the war in Iraq in 2002 in Congress.  And, he continually votes against the funding for the continuation of this illegal war. He is working on the impeachment of VP Dick Cheney and possibly the President as well. He stands up for civil rights and was against the Patriot Act. He is the only candidate who favors a single-payer healthcare system. He favors a free education from pre-K to college to every American. He supports the GLBT community including giving them full civil rights to marriage. He is pro-choice because he believes that women should have a right to choose and he will have programs to minimize the occurences of abortion.
He is against wiretapping of our phones and computer systems. His plans include a 20% increase of alternative energy availability by 6 years, which would do more help for saving our environment and planet (than the carbon tax emissions that the top 3 [Clinton, Obama, Edwards] are planning). This will also create millions of jobs for the American people. He will repeal NAFTA and withdraw from WTO to solve the economy's problem as well as the immigration problem. He advocates "strength through peace" which will make diplomacy as the instrument for international policy and relations.
Who is he? Congressman Dennis Kucinich
I hope that we will all work together towards this vision of reclaiming back our constitutional rights, bringing peace not only here at home but also to the rest of the world as well, solving our environmental problems, and creating a strong, secure economy. And it should not matter who will fight for these issues for us. May it be Al Gore, Dennis Kucinich or even John Doe.
I appreciate Mr. Al Gore's works and dedication especially to our environment. This is a very positive influence to all of us, humanity. We are begining to re-recognize our responsibilities to take care of our planet, which is our home. We all hope for a brighter future not only for us but for the next generation. May the best candidate who caters all these visions and willing to work on that vision win the election.
Thank you so much.

The only permanent thing in this world is change. But sometimes, we have to do more than "waiting for the world to change." That's what Jamie Santi believes in. She advocates for changes she believes in; which will push humanity towards the right (more...)
