| Henry Waxman, on NPR and reported elsewhere says that
basically, the Halliburton contract, originally purported to be for
putting out oil well fires, is actually set to include running the entire
oil industry in Iraq-- all the oil fields.
Worse, the contract is for costs plus, so Halliburton is pre-approved
for whatever it spends. Waxman says Halliburton has a long history of
overcharging the government and is questioning the giving of this enormous
contract to Halliburton without a bidding process.
