Fried Rice; Condoleeza that is.

What in the world has Condoleezza Rice been putting in her kool-aid? Today she has stated that President Bush will one day be considered in the same breath as the largest diplomatic figures of the last 100 years, including Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill. I am not sure what is more frightening; trying to watch President Bush correctly pronounce Abu Ghraib, or the fact that Rice might actually believe this nonsense.

"When you think of statesmen, you think of people who seized historic opportunities to change the world for the better, people like Roosevelt, people like Churchill, and people like Truman, who understood the challenges of communism. And this president has been an agent of change for the better -- historic change for the better."

Lets take a look at this comment. To even refer to Bush as a statesman is a stretch. After all this is a man who referred to the Greeks as the Grecians and couldn't tell the difference between Slovenia and Slovakia, before he even was appointed to the Oval Office. He came in knowing nothing about foreign relations and has proceeded to actually regress.

The dictionary defines a diplomat as:

One, such as an ambassador, who has been appointed to represent a government in its relations with other governments. One who uses skill and tact in dealing with others.

This President has routinely ignored the global community to achieve his own ends, ruining relationships with former allies. He has done this with neither skill, nor tact. The height of his diplomacy can be found in his infamous catch phrase; "bring em on". This lack of diplomacy is not only striking, but it is a shared opinion, across the aisle. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Richard Lugar, (R-Ind) has been quoted as saying:

"The diplomacy is deficient, not many people agree with us or like us or, for that matter, are prepared to work with us."

Rice speaks of seizing historic opportunities to change the world for the better. Unfortunately, what we have is a President that seized on the tragedy of 9-11, to propel us into conflicts that had nothing to do with terrorism or the people that flew those planes into the buildings on that fateful day. What we know is that immediately following 9-11, the President allowed the Bin-Laden family to fly out of the country without being interviewed by the government, demanded his people find a connection between Saddam and 9-11, even though he was told there was none, and proceeded to alienate our allies with outright false information.

What other historic acts has this worldly diplomat presided over? Is it a statesman that allows a covert CIA operative to be exposed as a means to payback her husband who correctly stated that Saddam was never looking for that uranium in the Niger that somehow found it's way into the State of the Union Address? Is it a polished diplomat that allows torture, rape and murder, as the center of it's military prison policy and then cuts loose the front line soldiers who were simply following the procedures of this corrupt administration? Is it a statesman and diplomat that snubs the rest of the world, then has the audacity to compare his private war to the great struggles this world went through during World War II? No, this is an egomaniacal, self-serving, heartless man who hides behind words like democracy, while passing laws to ruin ours such as the Patriot Act.

Ms. Rice, who is a smart woman, finished with:

"If you ask yourself what has been the response of this president to the fundamentally changed environment in which we find ourselves after September the 11th, on just about every front that you could name he has been someone who has recognized historic opportunities and seized them,"

With all due respect Ms. Rice, this may very well be one the worst Presidencies in the history of America. This President has ruined our economy, destroyed the environment, and led us down the deadly path to war, for profiteering. If he was a Democrat,  the Republican Congress would have impeached him already. To continue to insinuate that 9-11 has anything to do with the war efforts in Iraq in light of the lack of WMD and the obvious fact that there was no connection between Saddam and Osama, is disingenuous at best, and quite frankly, bordering on evil. I can accept that the President may not understand that, but you are smart enough to.
