*PUT Cheney/Bush On Trial For The 9/11 Attacks
Bush put Cheney in charge on 9/11 and Cheney put our NORAD air defenses on stand down over the target areas at the Pentagon and World Trade Center Towers resulting in the 9/11 attacks.

Thanksgiving ... it was a time of fellowship, remembrance, and gratitude...
The third Thursday in November, we in the US observe a truly unique American celebration. It was a time of fellowship, remembrance, and gratitude. We look back upon where we have been, we consider where we find ourselves, and we contemplate where we are headed: normally we are thankful.

Jobs! Can They Not Hear and See? (7 comments)
The honeymoon is definitely over. The Obama Administration has shown its hand and the hand is empty. The country's best columnist agree that something serious is amiss in the West Wing, not just across the breadth and length of our land. Enjoy your Thanksgiving repast, but remember there are millions who cannot!

How the Democrat Party Lost Its "ic" (11 comments)
My determination to find out why and when Republicans replaced "Democratic Party" with the stunningly childish "Democrat Party" led me to a secret strategy session held by the Republican elite shortly after their defeat at the polls.
Strangely, the minutes of the meeting were written in verse.
Rabbi Michael Lerner:
Obama's Declining Popularity (13 comments)
While Obama is still hailed around the world in almost messianic tones, recent polls indicate his approval rate is below 50% in the U.S. How could a man who aroused so much hope be losing support so dramatically? And what lessons can be learned for politicians all around the world?

UK Inquiry: Blair Conspired with Bush as Early as February 2002 to Plot Iraq Invasion (11 comments)
In the UK, people are learning about the deceit and lies of their former prime minister. In the US, there's no such investigation, and most of the media won't even report on the UK probe.

What goes around comes around (1 comments)
There is only one thought that is important to remember: Anything we are willing to do to some third-world peasant to obtain information, we are just as willing to do to you. The cascading effect is all too clear all throughout history, be it hunting for witches or hunting for Al Qaeda. The Taser weapon was first introduced to the United States as an alternative to deadly force.

The Real Irony of Psalms 109 (3 comments)
The rich irony is that those who have chosen this Bible verse as a slogan clearly have no idea of the context and meaning of that which they quote.
The Bible clearly says the exact opposite of that which they imply.

The Social Element of Social Capitalism
"Women and children first!" cried the Titanic's Captain as she prepared for her final, fatal plunge.
In our modern world, I believe that how we treat children and the opposite sex is a direct reflection of how we react to different and diverse peoples and ideas. There are few if any supporters of the ERA in the KKK; we need to examine the basis for this truth.
Robert Parry:
The Madness Returns
As soon as the mainstream news correspondents sensed that the tide was turning again, they smoothly readjusted to the resurgence of know-nothing-ism. Palin's recitation of right-wing talking points was treated with deference and respect, except by the likes of Jon Stewart, host of Comedy Central's “Daily Show.”

E.J. Dionne Jr. -- Obama's thankless Thanksgiving
It's now official: So in vogue are attacks on President Obama that even his proclamation calling the nation to a day of Thanksgiving has become the focus of criticism. I'm willing to bet that a right-wing talk jock near you will soon be declaring the "indigenous communities" reference "un-American," and the call to service as yet another shout-out to "socialism."

Geithner's Disgrace. - By Eliot Spitzer (Slate)
Barofsky's report reads like a case study in failed negotiation. The New York Fed didn't have the backbone to stand up to Wall Street, didn't understand its capacity to protect taxpayers, and didn't appreciate that its responsibility was to taxpayers.

Eric Margolis: Critics of Afghanistan need to look in mirror (1 comments)
Ironically, across the Muslim world, the same western powers scourging Karzai are seen as major sources of corruption, keeping a repressive regime in power by buying dictators, generals and politicians. Many Afghans support the Taliban because it is seen as an enemy of corruption and an enforcer of justice, however harsh.

Could Gender Play Role in Wall Street Reform?
Not surprisingly, two women have emerged as the leading thinkers, sayers and doers of the post-financial crisis world: Sheila Bair, chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., and Elizabeth Warren, director of the Congressional Oversight Panel for the $700 billion bank-bailout package, known as the Troubled Asset Relief Program.

Michaele and Tareq Salahi, slipped past multiple layers of high-level White House security Tuesday night and managed to rub shoulders, literally, with Vice President Joseph R. As the UK's man in Washington from 1997 to 2003, Sir Christopher was questioned about the changing nature of British and American policy towards the oil-rich country. He said that the U.S. began targeting Iraq on the very day of the September 11 terror attacks in 2001.
U.S. Is Seeking 10,000 Troops From Its Allies for Afghan War
The Obama administration views a substantial contribution from its allies as a way to keep the American troop increase lower and blunt domestic political criticism of the Afghan war. It would also allow the administration to come close to the military's request for 40,000 additional troops without relying totally on the already stretched American armed forces.

British People Against Troops in Afghan, so Brown Sends More Troops (2 comments)
Gordon Brown insists that British troops in Afghanistan are necessary to protect the UK from the threat of al Qaeda, yet this poll indicates the British people overwhelmingly don't buy this. So the war goes on anyway. Why, other than the fact that there is little genuine democracy in England either? Follow the money and energy resources trail, and the sycophant trail. Fabricated fear serves profit and the Devil.

Defining "Rich" (2 comments)
Warren asked McCain and Obama to define "rich" with a specific number. This was a ridiculous question for a presidential forum and caused everybody to laugh because the term "rich" cannot be defined so precisely as being greater than a single specific annual income. This is because "rich" is a fuzzy set, not a crisp set.
