Thank you for clarification, Carol - I was not aware of the status and purpose of the US law originating in WW1. Thank you also for the information relating to British law's obligation to comply with any UN ruling. There must be some sort of wriggle-room in this, or in any case the UK is clearly going to try to dismiss it as "non-binding". Whatever they may say for public consumption, there can be no doubt it puts them in a difficult position to have this ruling against them!
