John, this article gives me a lot of think about. And yet, I worry that it might be too late to talk about negotiations for peace now.Certainly we need to have more cooperation with Russia and Iran. I trust the good intent of Russian foreign policy, even in the face of our conflicting economic interests.

However, it is hard to think of trying to negotiate with entities like ISIS whose goal is world domination of ISLAM. On the other hand, violent reaction goes against our grain because of collateral damages. I feel we are between a rock and a hard place, in terrible conflict emotionally, as well as intellectual planning for a response. I feel very sad today.
