A large sinkhole appeared suddenly on Thursday in a southern Louisiana bayou. It has swallowed 100-foot-tall cypress trees and prompted evacuations. A possible breach of a butane-filled well 1500 feet from the sinkhole, now the size of three football fields, is "very serious." Local residents ordered to evacuate are worried about a catastrophic explosion.
