The Congressional Stables are Full of Lame and Slow Political Animals. The system is so absolutely corrupted and moribund with laws and loopholes and mined and manipulated by lobbyists that our Congressmen have been made lame and slow, by their own complicity or naiveté. Combine this with dangerous and destructive political ideology and you end up with a congressional stable of political animals that are show ponies, not work horses.

The Congressional Stables are Full of Lame and Slow Political Animals.   The system is so absolutely corrupted and moribund with laws and loopholes and mined and manipulated by lobbyists that our Congressmen have been made lame and slow, by their own complicity or naiveté.   Combine this with dangerous and destructive political ideology and you end up with a congressional stable of political animals that are show ponies, not work horses.  

But is the problem completely with the ineffective Congressmen and women or are they really just a bunch of manipulated bobos:   manipulated by the political party machines, lawyers, lobbyists and corporate big money, and their uninformed, emotional constituents?   I believe they are manipulated, happily or not, however the question seems redundant and a non sequitur or...so obvious that even speaking it seems shallow.   These platitudes swamp most political discussions these days because corporate, political America shies away from addressing the real fundamental, systemic problems: A complete lack of leadership and a populace that has so entirely embraced the lies of corporate America that we are no longer an effective voting and advocating body.  

Americans today are much more inclined to defend, eat and shop at Wal-Mart and Mc Donald's than they are to be engaged in issues that directly affect their lives.   Yet, the previous statement is not totally true -- shopping at Wal-Mart and eating at McDonald's does affect their lives.   The goods are cheap and the food is fast and cheap.   The real issues are a problem of a lack of an unencumbered media and national and local leadership.   American citizens are woefully uninformed and without selfless guidance.   Government is failing Americans -- it can't lead because it serves other masters.   Churches refuse to lead because they are self-serving and no longer engaged in apolitical issues of social justice.   Our President pirouettes around true, effective leadership because he, sadly, is just another anachronistic party politician.   Even our educational system is being co-opted and manipulated by corporate, dark, social engineers.  

We are failing as voters and citizens because we are choosing to cling to an ever eroding and toxic status quo instead of demanding real information, corporate and governmental culpability, quality leadership and religious and social institutions that serve the immediate needs of society, not dogmas and prejudices.  

If President Barrack Obama doesn't cast off his corporate and party allegiance and do the right things for this country, his legacy will be:   The President that had more potential for positive change in this country than any of he predecessors, denied his power and mandate, served the destructive status quo and left the United States of America worse off than when he arrived -- it's time for President Obama to lead.  

We are not addressing, as a country, the salient issues of the day:   A national security apparatus gone wild, war without meaningful oversight, environmental degradation and potential catastrophe, the obscene inequality of the distribution of wealth and the attendant unbalancing of power and influence, food security, and the inevitable rise of global insecurity that cannot be fixed by the promulgation of American style "Capitalism" and "Democracy."   We are in desperate need of true leadership.   We have had true leaders before.   We will have them again.   They must be willing to speak truth to power and to the anesthetized masses; wallowing in self-indulgent, propagandized anger or unwitting complacency.   The new leaders will have to come from our neighborhoods and circumstances and without the mental sloppiness and obfuscatory, narcotic affects of worshipping "The American Dream", which obscures and precludes a true, happy future for all of us.
