The Republican party in California stubbornly embraced the gubernatorial candidacy of "The Terminator" in 2003 despite mountains of evidence that he was a big-government establishment puppet. Now they are facing yet more dire consequences of the gun-grabbing action-star's legacy.

Nearly a year and a half after leaving office, former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger continues to obsess on climate hysteria while the state faces the imminent effects of the "Global Warming Final Solutions Act", his pet project from 2006. AB32, sold under the pretext of reducing greenhouse emissions, will reportedly cost Californians thousands of dollars per family and establish a cap and trade program.

The Wall Street Journal published 'The Price of Green Virtue' on July 6th, outlining two studies which have revealed disastrous results of the law. As a result of AB32, gasoline prices are forecast to rise nearly three dollars per gallon by 2015 and energy costs will greatly increase, costing each family approximately $2,500 per year.

The two studies were conducted by separate groups. Cost impacts of California's AB 32 was a study conducted by the California Manufacturers and Technology Association [read the report here.] An unrelated report was released by The Western States Petroleum Association who "engaged the services of the respected Boston Consulting Group" to analyze "California's many new climate change policies."

Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger tweeted a photo of himself with U.N. stooge Kandeh Yumkella on July 24th, remarking "Enjoyed talking sustainable energy with @UNIDO Director-General Kandeh Yumkella today. Such an energetic leader." On it's official webpage, UNIDO (The United Nations Industrial Development Organization) is described as "the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability." Yumkella recently gave a speech entitled "four reasons why the world needs to act fast on climate change".

R20 "Regions of Climate Action", a non-profit organization, was "founded in 2011 by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and other global leaders in cooperation with the United Nations" "to reduce energy consumption and lower greenhouse gas emissions". R20's stated mission is "To help states, provinces, regions and other subnational governments around the world develop, implement and communicate low-carbon and climate-resilient economic development projects, policies and best practices." Only two states in the U.S., California and Michigan, are listed as "founding members" of R20. No word on whether the states notified the taxpayers about the $25,000 annual membership fees, or who allocated the funds. A news article linked by Schwarzenegger's site points out that "More than 100 financial institutions, including the World Bank" are involved with R20. Academic partners in the U.S. include UCLA and UC Davis.
