In Case You Missed Him Already: A NORWAC Doctor in Gaza Speaks Out

By Mac McKinney

Meet Dr. Mads Gilbert, a Triage doctor from NORWAC who is in the hospital in Shifa, Gaza, and who has been reporting to the world the situation on the ground in Gaza regarding civilian casualties. This video is from Dec 31, but we now also have a text message he sent yesterday, Jan 3.

::::::::

This kind of report is why Israel has barred the international media from Gaza, now even defying their own supreme court's order to let 12 journalists in when last I checked. So this is even destroying Israeli institutions politically while destroying Palestinian institutions literally.

For an update of events inside Gaza from the doctor, following is a comment on Mosquito Blog about Dr. Mads Gilbert's text message on Jan 3:

My dad works at the same hospital as Mads Gilbert. he got a txt message from Dr. Gilbert. Translated from Norwegian it says: They bombed the central fruit and vegetables market in Gaza town two hours ago. 80 wounded and 20 killed. All of them came here, to Shifa. Hades! We are up to our knees with death, blood and amputants. Lots of children. Pregnant women. I have never experienced anything this terrible. Tell people, pass it on, shout it from the rooftops. Everything. WE MUST DO MORE! We are living in the history books now, everyone! Mads G, 1.3.09, 13:50, Gaza, Palestine (Anesthesia Doctor) (source)

Authors Bio:
I am a student of history, religion, exoteric and esoteric, the Humanities in general and a tempered advocate for the ultimate manifestation of peace, justice and the unity of humankind through self-realization and mutual respect, although I am not a pacifist, nor do I believe in peace at any price, which is no peace at all but only delays inevitable conflict. There are times when the world must act. Planetary consciousness is evolving, but there are many retrograde forces that would drag us back down.

I have also written one book, a combination of poetry, photography and essays entitled "Post Katrina Blues", my reflections on the Gulf Coast and New Orleans two years after Katrina struck. Go to the store at http://sanfranciscobaypress.com/ to purchase. And I also have a blog called Plutonian Mac.
