How can historical enemies come together to work for peace? Not until such time as they realize that no other option is possible. Do they have to slaughter each other to that point or can they be led by the workings of the Cosmos with spiritual alignment of religious leaders? I speak of the Muslim-Israel-Christian conflicts. The Quantum Enigma of Einstein's "Spooky Action" may hold the secret.

President Obama gave a speech in Cairo in which he talked of a new beginning between America and Islam. He spoke of democracy and women’s rights. All the talk of bringing those two elements of America’s view into the lifestyle of Muslims is diametrically opposed to Islam’s Sharia law.

No person or group of persons will or are able to make such drastically opposed changes to basic belief systems without the trauma of a crushing disintegration of all that is held dear to the mind and “heart”. 

The primitive brain of man known as the reptilian brain is coupled with the limbic system. It is there that basic elements of eating, sleeping, reproduction, fear, anger, fight, flight, and emotionally blocking new ideas running counter to what has been programmed over the years in the belief system. Any new understanding entering the “Gray” matter is controlled by the initial biases of the Limbic system. It is a gate keeper.  Yogi Berra said, “There are some people if they don’t already know, you can’t tell them”. That is why habits or belief systems are hard if not impossible to break.

Jews have it and so do Christians and Muslims along with all other humans of varied beliefs. In contemporary lingo it is called being brainwashed. Thus all devout believers of those religions addressed by Obama are brainwashed to several but each a unique and opposite belief system.

The messages of Obama which deviate from beliefs of Muslims simply pass through the ears of Muslims like water off a “ducks back”! The same can be said for his speech which threatens the notions of Jews with respect to the “Holy Land”; notions that have been programmed into the minds of Jews for centuries. Likewise any part of his speech which challenges radical Christian belief systems also falls off their ears. In the end, each group can only envision peace if the other two groups yield to the programming of a single group. It would be like having two joker cards in a single hand!

It is ignorant nonsense to make such a speech for peace while ignoring the realities of human consciousness with its deep seated biases.

A history of the world, particularly the Middle East is riddled with religious notions of which belief system is correct and should prevail over mankind. The truth is that no religion can prove with empirical evidence that it is correct to the point of overcoming any observable objection to it. That is to say that no religion can prove beyond any reasonable doubt that it is true. Faith in an un-provable notion will never make it true no matter how long the belief system has existed.

Reducing family legends to a written document cannot make it any truer than it was at the outset. All three of the major religions discussed here have their roots in the Abraham oral tradition until a character named Moses reduced the legends to a written form as the book of Genesis.  If there is any truth to the story, the truth would be that God approved the stealing of birth rights established under traditions of the ancestors of Abraham by driving the first born son of Abraham into the wilderness to steal for his second son, Isaac, the birthright promises of the first born, Ishmael.

This was followed up by Abraham’s grandson Esau being deprived of his firstborn birthright by deception in giving it to second son Jacob or Israel. So the written story establishes the God of Abraham as approving liars and a cheats if such deception was, as appears, approved  by Abraham’s God. Without making any excuses or rationalizations how does that square with a reasonable person’s concept of a just and loving God?

As to which descendants of Abraham have the birthright promises of custom, a court of law would have to rule that the descendants of Ishmael are the legal heirs and they happen to be Arabs. So the belief by Jews that by God’s divine sanction they are rightful heirs to Jerusalem no matter which of their later kings or prophets made such an assertion is totally flawed. Again it does not matter how long the belief has been held or how many times it has been reduced to writing, the lands of the Middle East belong to Arabs under the inheritance laws of the ancestors of Abraham.

There has not been a case of mistaken identity as complete and flawed as the descendants of Judah upon who was bestowed an egotistic identity as God’s special/chosen people as heirs to the promise of the scepter not “departing Judah or the lawgiver from between his feet until Shiloh come”. The idea of combining the notions of Israel’s God with racial purity/religion and right of governing the earth by Jews has been a con game of the millenniums. It has been a deception without parallel! Unfortunately millions of Jews have suffered death and abuse because of it.

The smarter ones of Israel, the ten tribes who departed and mixed their identity with other earthlings after the 70 year captivity in Babylon were obviously sick and tired of the false promises of Abraham’s God and instead of returning to the Holy Land are reported to have gone north into Europe who’s later descendants became Christians.

While the centuries old conflict between Arabs and Jews is well known, the major conflict came after the announcement by Mohammed that he had been caught up to heaven to converse with God-Allah. That announcement and the Koran which he wrote established in the minds of Arabs that they, not Jews, are the chosen of God and their destiny is to bring the entire world to Muslim acceptance of Allah along with its Sharia law which is in conflict with Judaism, Christianity, democracy and centuries of developed civil/human rights of men and women in particular.

Mohammed’s story is no more empirically provable than is Abraham’s but the former relies on the latter for credibility. Thus they both negate the other.

Christianity is sandwiched between Judaism and Islam both in time frames and in authority. The exception of Christianity is the claim that Jesus, a Jewish descendant of King David is the “made in the flesh” God of Jews, Muslims and Christians. While it attempts to exhalt the notion of love and grace of God it has as much blood on its hands as either Judaism or Islam. Neither Judaism nor Islam take any stock in the Christ story other than perhaps admit to his being a prophet.

The bare bones truth is that not any one of the three major religions can reach to the degree of absolute certainty by which faith or trust in it can bring about a peaceful earth. That is to say that not any of its, separate or combined, thesis’ rises to the level of certainty that killing another human soul over its beliefs, laws or rules can be justified by God or, more importantly, by the intelligence of man.

Instead of preaching peace and reconciliation to Muslims while backing the right of Israel with its stockpile of atom bombs to pre-emptively attack Iran to prevent any chance of Iran acquiring its own bomb for self protection, Mr. Obama needs to be addressing root causes of the ages old conflicts. 

Seeking a consensus of purpose among them in a search to resolve these issues can only come about as a result of spiritual alignment from compromise. While that is not the arena of a democratic government under the U.S. Constitution, it can be referred to men and women who may by experience [not formal training as Doctors of Divinity] be prepared to address such issues outside of government.

While it cannot be true that all three divergent religious views are correct, it is indisputable that all three can be incorrect! There is a way in which the Cosmos can resolve these conflicts in bringing peace and co-existence to Arabs, Jews and Christians. We just need to reach out for it in earnest desire. This is an area where the Quantum Enigma [the “spooky stuff” of Einstein] can produce answers.

Does Mr. Obama have the wisdom and fortitude to properly initiate such a procedure?

Only time will tell! True and lasting peace awaits his affirmation of correct procedures.
