On Ultra Nationalists: When You Slow-Dance with the Devil, You Can't See His Face

By George Eliason

Since the 1970s, when they proved their importance by delivering five states in a US Presidential election, the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations (ABN)and its affiliate Ukrainian Congressional Committee of America (UCCA)have been remaking the US government in their image. Now they make common cause with their sister Neo-Cons. They are the kingmakers in US federal elections, and both political parties now march to their tune.

At the end of WW2 the Nazi political ideologist Carl Schmidt was asked how such a brilliant man could justify the atrocities of Hitler's Third Reich. His answer: When you slow-dance with the Devil, you can't see his face.  With the unfolding events in Ukraine, it's time now to look in the Devil's face.

President Obama said it was outrageous to think that America would support Ultra Nationalists in Ukraine. Did he lie? You decide.

"For the same day your court in Donetsk ruled to strip [Ukrainian Ultra Nationalist hero Stepan] Bandera of his Hero title, God bestowed the best gift possible to our family: the birth of Stepan Bandera's fifth great-grandchild. The KGB succeeded in killing his great-grandfather. But try as you might, you will never stop the Banderas Coming soon to a gene pool near you! Signed, Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Her Children! In prostration, S.A. Bandera, Grandson of Hero of Ukraine." This was the third-generation Stepan Bandera's open letter to Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovych in 2010.

Yes! Stepan Bandera is alive and well. He may well be invited to a mid-summer barbeque at the White House and down a few beers with President Barak Obama and Senator John McCain. The takeover of Ukraine by those who march to his ulra-nationalist drumming has allowed seventy years' worth of US foreign policy to pay off with bigger dividends than anyone could have imagined.

The first Bandera's grandson is a former editor and reporter for the Kiev Post, and you can read his own take on Ultra Nationalists like Oleh Tyanhybok here.

From a Kiev Post interview lunch with the grandson of national hero Stepan Bandera, by Paul Miazga, Kyiv Post Staff Writer, April 20, 2005:

"Banderawho currently writes for New York City's [Ukrainian] Diaspora newspaper The  National Tribune , never knew his grandfather, who was killed by a KGB agent in 1959. But he has an affinity with him.... "Our family has always been very tight, very Ukrainian.' Bandera's father--also a nationalist activist--died under mysterious circumstances back in 1984, just like his grandfather. "I came to Ukraine looking for a fight,' he says."

Aside from being a journalist supporting his family's claim to an Ultra Nationalist Ukraine, Mr. Bandera plays a much larger role behind the scenes. This second-generation homegrown Canadian Ukrainian Ultra Nationalist helped Americanize the ultra-nationalist movement in Ukraine through his influence in America's civil, political, and business circles.

The CUSUR (Center for US-Ukrainian Relations) was started as a result of the continuing support for a free Ukraine in three US presidential administrations. The "free" in "free Ukraine" refers to an ultra-nationalist Ukraine that Mr. Bandera's grandfather would be proud of.

First under President Bill Clinton, and then through two terms of GW Bush, both the US and Ukrainian governments, and businesses in the two countries, built extensive networks that culminated in the event-driving Maidan movement for Ukrainian integration with the West.

The CUSUR and the UCCA (Ukrainian Congressional Committee of America) are intertwined and so powerful in American politics that even a casual glance at their meeting notes or plans will give you the chills. Both groups are in fact OUN (b) (Ukrainian Ultra Nationalist) organizations that operate freely in the US, influencing National Security issues , Foreign Policy , and American National Politics.

Both Congressional Durbin brothers and Secretary of State John Kerry are enthusiastic supporters. Senator Durbin, a Lithuanian-American, has in fact stated during John Kerry's bid for the Presidency, "If John Kerry is elected, Kerry will work vigorously for Ukraine's continued independence and prosperity." That position, of course, supports the UCCA view .

Where does Mr. Bandera fit into all of this? For the last seventy years, the US has only recognized one Ukrainian government. According to CIA-released documents to which I provided links in previous articles, that one government is the Ukrainian government in Exile , led by the Stetskos. That government has now been brought back to Ukraine and cemented with the Maidan.

The Depth of the Bandera Influence

Here's a quick look at one name that appears on all of the steering committees of the CUSUR. As you'll see in UA Quest Roundtable Steering Committees , that name is Stepan Bandera

RTI: Ukraine's Quest for Mature Nation Statehood Steering Committee--Stepan Bandera

RTII: US/Ukraine Strategic Partnership Steering Committee-- Stepan Bandera.

These committees interact with Congress, the State Department, and the Defense Department. Even if the references to the Bandera name are only honorary, it is significant that his name is deemed important enough to be connected with every steering committee.

Mr. Bandera is called on to give keynote speeches for the UCCA. At the very least, his famous name is needed to garner support from the US government and from large US businesses for the sole purpose of setting up a free and ultra-nationalist Ukraine.

With Bandera's involvement, CUSUR has found enthusiastic support from across the spectrum of US universities, think tanks and corporations, and from the US government itself. Sponsor companies and foundations that fund the organization include: American Foreign Policy Council, Atlantic Council, Bechtel Corporation, Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine Ltd., Canadian Ukrainian Foundation, Delta Airlines, Halliburton, J. P. Morgan, Microsoft, National Endowment for Democracy, Philip Morris Companies, Inc., and, of course, the RAND Corporation--among many others.

At the very least, Mr. Bandera provides the brand name for the new Ukraine that US businesses and the US government can rally around.

Children of the OUN (b)

Oleksandr Ivanovych Muzychko (aka Sashko Bily) was recently gunned down in Rivne. Mr. Muzychko was a leader of the ultra-nationalist umbrella organization Pravy Sector for Western Ukraine. He was also a leader in UNA-UNSD (Ukrainian National Assembly--Ukrainian National Self-Defense), which was originally led by Yuriy-Bogdan Shukhevych, son of OUN General Roman Shukhevych and a friend of the Nazi sympathizer Slava Stetsko. Mr. Muzychko has the distinction of having the same family name as Slava Stetsko 's maiden name. It might be noted, too, that Mr. Tyanhybok is descended from a legendary Ukrainain politician, Lonhyn Tsehelsky , and that Mr. Yatsenyuk's family also has distinguished itself in service to the Nationalist cause. If you look closely at the family histories of today's Ukrainian politicians, you find that today's Stepan Bandera shares the company of the children and grandchildren of the men and women that supported his illustrious grandfather.

In the picture below, you'll find presidential hopeful and EU favorite Vitali Klitschko, his brother and his father. And, yes, that is Oleksandr Muzychko with the number "2" over his head. Mr. Muzychko introduced the Klitschko brothers to connections in America.

How Powerful are Ultra Nationalists in the US Government?

Here's a short highlight history of how groups openly working with Adolf Hitler entwined themselves and have shaped US domestic and foreign policy for the last 30 years.

Since 1959, the Captive Nations Proclamation has required every US President to designate the third week in July as Captive Nations Week. The original language of the bill was developed by UCCA president Lev Dobriansky. Since then, Ukrainian Ultra Nationalists have had a growing and now major influence on the US government--on its policies, parties, legislation, and doctrine.

By the 1970s the UCCA (Ukrainian Congressional Committee of America) gained official recognition in the Republican Party. While Richard Nixon was campaigning for re-election as President in 1972, he indirectly supported the UCCA and UNA (Ukrainian National Association) by promising to recognize the contributions of ethnics to the Republican Party. The Republican National Committee hired a UCCA activist to head the Republican Heritage Groups Council, which expanded the role of Eastern Europeans in the party. These groups, populated with Ultra Nationalists from every Eastern European country , had two goals: 1) Destroying the USSR; and 2) Reshaping politics and government in America. They were able to deliver five states for Richard Nixon in his 1972 presidential campaign.

Paul Weyrich

In 1973 a very important figure emerged and changed the world, first nationally and then internationally. His think tanks introduced and indelibly engrafted the Chicago School of political thought (more commonly known as neo-conservative) into American politics.

This figure, Paul Weyrich , founded the Heritage Foundation; the Committee for the Survival of a Free Congress (CSFC); the American Legislative Exchange Council, an organization of state legislators; and the Council for National Policy. With Jerry Falwell, he also co-founded the Moral Majority. Another group with similar ideology that he helped develop emerged during the same period was the hard-right Christian Dominionist/Fundamentalist voting bloc, known today as Evangelicals. At present, these groups are very involved with funding the revolution in Ukraine.

Few who follow strategic political developments would disagree that, over the last 30 years, these groups have exerted tremendous influence over national and international politics and policy. The Heritage Foundation has been a leading proponent of conservative ideas ever since it provided the blueprint for Ronald Reagan's first term. " According to Journalist Russ Bellant ("OLD NAZIS, THE NEW RIGHT, AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY"), it was a convicted Nazi war collaborator, Laszlo Pasztor, who built the Republican émigré network. During the war, Pasztor had belonged to the Hungarian Arrow Cross, a group that helped liquidate Hungary's Jews. He also  served as  an adviser to Weyrich and became the founding chairman of the Republican Heritage Groups Council. Pasztor was also a leader in the ABN (Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations), headed by Yaroslav Stetsko.

The Heritage Groups Council played a major role in electing US Presidents and, through the Heritage Foundation, also helped shape policy. For their part, the UNA (Ukrainian National Association) and ABN played a large role in the Republican Heritage Council. By 1976, UNA members were assistants to Senators Bob Taft, James Buckley, and Special Assistant to President Gerald Ford.

In 1977 the UNA gained enough political potency to establish Human Rights Day in the nation's capital, an event hosted by Senator Bob Dole and attended by 51 members of Congress.

The Reagan Years...through Maidan's Fabricated Spontaneity

The Reagan years brought the Neo-cons into power, and they have been a fixture in US domestic and foreign policy ever since. The role played by the Neo-Cons deserves a write-up of its own. What can be said briefly here is that the Chicago School of political thought, led by Leo Strauss, turned American politics to the hard right. Needless to say, the Ultra Nationalists who were chief advisers to the Heritage Foundation's founder guided the implementation of this ideology.

Leo Strauss, the Chicago School, and Neo-Cons

Because of his political theory, friends, acquaintances and connections, many have tried to paint Leo Strauss over the decades as a Nazi. That effort has, however, been unsuccessful. The idea that a Jew can be a Nazi is simply too repugnant to common sense. Yet, the colors of Ultra Nationalism have changed in the public eye since the rightward-leaning Euro Maidan began.

Ukrainian Nazism is not politically anti-Semitic, because many of its current leaders are Jewish. At the same time, however, it is brutally anti-Semitic in substance. It is not guided as much by doctrine as it is by the direction the wind is blowing on a particular day. This is a politics Leo Strauss would have loved. It puts all of his theory into play.

"My head spins with a hundred plans, none of which is likely to be realized: England, US, Palestine, France are out of the question--in part because of the circumstance that they consider me a "Nazi' here." Leo Strauss to Gerhard Kruger, December 3, 1933.

In Elisabeth Young-Bruehl's biography , Hannah Arendt, For Love of the World, we find this: "Strauss was haunted by the rather cruel way in which Hannah Arendt had judged his assessment of National Socialism: she had pointed out the irony of the fact that a political party advocating views that Strauss appreciated could have no place for a Jew like him."

The Chicago School Neo-Cons, including Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, and, today, even Victoria Nuland, subscribe to Strauss' brand of ultra-nationalism. That is what the "American Exceptionalism" they all want to promote is in reality.

The Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations ( ABN
The Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations (ABN) was formed in 1943 by OUN leader Yaroslav Stetsko, who headed it until his death in 1986. Leadership of the ABN then shifted to his wife Slava Stetsko, along with that of the OUN, which had leadership of the entire Ukrainian diaspora.

The UNA, UCCA, and many other groups and foundations all fell under the control of the ABN. After the death of (the first) Stepan Bandera in 1959, control of these groups in the US and abroad fell to the OUN (b) Ukrainian Prime Minister in Exile, Yaroslav Stetsko.

The groups that made up the ABN were and are all radical Ultra Nationalist, or Nazi, when the group leader's affiliations to Hitler are taken into account. These are the groups from which the Republican Heritage Groups Council was formed.

According to CIA documents released under the Freedom of Information Act, the Stetskos traveled frequently to the US and Canada to raise funds and political support for the creation of an Ultra Nationalist Ukraine. Slava Stetsko described her life experiences in an interview:

"I was a member of an anti-Soviet guerrilla unit. After the Germans came, we entered Bibrka, a small Western Ukrainian town. On June 30, 1941, the Act of Ukrainian Statehood was proclaimed in Lviv. In Bibrka, we summoned a lot of people and they listened eagerly as we read out the historic document.... We got married. In 1945, Munich hosted a Conference of Oppressed Peoples. It was then that the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations was set up, with my husband heading it. I was responsible for liaison as a member of its Central Committee. .. . We had one goal in mind: putting together a Ukrainian ethnic community and developing contacts with other oppressed nations.

"Hence, my husband and I traveled extensively, covering a very large ground, including Canada and Australia where we would spend half a year. We would appear with lectures, organize news conferences, meet with local youth and statesmen...."

In 1984 Mrs. Stetsko reaffirmed the ABN's commitment to the Republican party after the Stetskos visited the White House. Ronald Reagan told them that "their cause was our cause (i.e. it was US policy), their fight was our fight."

This compact has cemented the Neo-Con policy of support ever since. Mrs. Stetsko told the ABN to support Ronald Reagan's re-election. "The goal of the ABN ," she said, "is to pressure the U.S. government toward a "liberation' policy aimed against the USSR, with ABN leaders as the liberators.   Although ABN members say they only need technical assistance from the West, they want the U.S. military to put them in power in Eastern Europe and the USSR. This is the formula they tried under German Nazi sponsorship."

Jumping to 1988, an article in the Jewish Weekly forced the resignation of six Republican leaders from George HW Bush's campaign, because of their Nazi ties. All of them were members of the Republican Heritage Groups Council.

In a May 1988 interview, Mrs. Stetsko was asked: "What do you hope your impact to be in the U. S. on the elections coming up this November?

Slava Stetsko: "Our people here are not electing a Democrat or a Republican. They are electing a man or woman who has some kind of integrity. They try to learn what ideas he or she represents and stands for. Men or women of great caliber and values we are giving our votes in the U .S. We consider that the U.S. needs great men, strong men, for the benefit not only of the U. S. but for all countries of the world. It is our interest to support good and strong people, and have them in Congress and in the government."

Slava Stetsko never had US citizenship. She was the leader of the ABN and OUN (b). These groups have been guiding Neo-Con politics this entire time.

How Does This All Tie Together, and How Does John McCain Fit in?

To make the tie-ins complete, think about government along these lines;

Say you took 100 men that had never met or spoken together, and asked each of them to design the ultimate city--one with monuments, buildings, streets, etc. When they came together, there would inevitably be a lot of arguing, as their ideas would be different. That is Democracy. It is the marketplace of ideas.

On the other hand, if you gave those same 100 men all the same books on how to build the ultimate city, they would agree on a lot. They would have studied the same authors and ideas, and come to common terms on how to do it. That is what is going on in government right now.

Leo Strauss and the Chicago School (the University of Chicago), where our current President was a professor, don't care whether you're liberal or conservative, as long as you agree with certain principles. As a government employee, you would be expected, like each of the members of the second group of 100 city designers, to have arrived at the same conclusions as everyone else. That is US government today.

The National Review, a respected Neo-Conservative publication, makes the point this way: " Nazism may have been an ideology to which the United States was -- and to which the President is -- implacably opposed, but it is hardly "senseless.' By the early 1930s, the Nazi party had hundreds of thousands of devoted members and repeatedly attracted a third of the votes in German elections. Its political leaders campaigned on a  platform   comprising 25 non-senseless points, including the "unification of all Germans," a demand for "land and territory for the sustenance of our people," and an assertion that "no Jew can be a member of the race." Suffice it to say, many sensible Germans were persuaded."

The political theory of Strauss' Neo-Cons and the OUN (b) political wing came together to create the perfect storm in American politics. Both groups are Ultra Nationalist and able to work together hand-in-glove. Since the passing of the Patriot Act, the steady advance into ultra-nationalism in America has been unchecked.

Since the 1970s, when they proved their importance by delivering five states in a Presidential election, the ABN and its UCCA affiliate have been re-making the US government in their image. These same groups then made common cause with their sister Neo-Cons, and became kingmakers in American national politics. By the time of the Bush-Kerry election in 2004, it just didn't matter anymore which party won. Both were marching to the same drummer.

We have a Congress that votes according to Ultra-Nationalist thought. We have a strongman President who is now a law unto himself. Yet, even given the many times he has circumvented Congress and the Constitution, the really hard-core Nationalists in Congress are saying it's not enough.

The "survival of the fittest" aspects of Strauss and Eastern European Ultra Nationalism have changed the base on which America stands. Since 2001, the country has gone from tragedy to crisis, and each time new changes were made new wars were started. The 1% won and America lost.

John McCain

In the 1980s, John McCain was on the Advisory Board of the USWF ( United States Council for World Freedom) . Like Presidents Reagan, Bush, and GW Bush, he was in contact with the Stetskos and was in fact chairman of the most important division of Yaroslav Stetsko's ABN group. McCain eventually resigned from this position, because of the heat you have to expect when you are in the US government and some of your best friends--those in Stetsko's ABN--are Nazis, Fascists, and perpetrators of genocide.

In the 1980s the United States affiliate of the World Anti-Communist League (WACL) was the United States Council for World Freedom (USCWF). Anticommunist activist Geoffrey Stewart-Smith, who led his British affiliate out of the WACL, declared in 1974 that despite a publicized housecleaning,

"The World Anti-Communist League is largely a collection of Nazis, Fascists, anti-Semites, sellers of forgeries, vicious racialists, and corrupt self-seekers. It has evolved into an anti-Semitic international. A list of persons involved over the years with WACL is printed on the back cover of Inside the League. Among the more notable: Yaroslav Stetsko , a Nazi collaborator who in July 1941 presided over the extermination of 7,000 Jews; Stefano delle Chiaie, a fugitive Italian terrorist wanted for robbery, kidnapping and murder; Mario Sandoval Alarcon, architect of the Guatemalan death squads; Chirila Ciuntu, a Romanian fascist who participated in a 1941 massacre of Jews". Russ Bellant, in   The Coors Connection,   reports that according to "an ABN publication,' an advisor to Paul Weyrich's Free Congress Foundation, Laszlo Pasztor, spoke at one ABN meeting as a representative of a "Hungarian organization.' The same issue of   ABN Correspondence   has a full-page obituary for an official of a Nazi puppet government during WWII."

In 1984, one year before John McCain helped found the International Republican Institute (IRI), he resigned from the Advisory Board of the USCWF. Now Chairman of the IRI, Senator McCain claims responsibility for at least five coups, including this year's coup in Ukraine. Working in partnership with the NDI (National Democratic Institute for International Affairs), the IRI operates by setting up seminars on how to organize people to wage protests, control the media, and, yes, overthrow governments. Though he has failed in his efforts to be elected President, McCain has successfully created his own State Department and dictates foreign policy through the IRI and related groups. By these means, he has been able to deliver on the dream of his friend, Yaroslav Stetsko, to create an ultra-nationalist Ukraine.

Mr. Obama

In 2005, President Obama toured surplus weapons stockpiles in Ukraine with Senator Dick Lugar. The agreement that came out of this visit was that Ukraine would give up its nuclear weapons and, in return, the borders of Ukraine would be guaranteed. Mr. Obama played a large role in creating this pact.

The role of the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) makes clear that President Obama's views on America's role in the world are on a par with those of John McCain.

"NED's chairman is former Democratic Rep. Dick Gephardt. Its president is Carl Gershman, a longtime figure in U.S. sectarian politics dating back to the 1970s. The NED Board of Directors includes former chairman Vin Weber, a high-profile Washington lobbyist who has supported the work of the Project for the New American Century along with a host of other neoconservative outfits; former U.S. ambassador to the UN and neoconservative activist Zalmay Khalilzad; Will Marshall of the Progressive Policy Institute; Anne-Marie Slaughter, a noted liberal hawk who served as the director of Policy Planning for the U.S. State Department during the Obama administration; and Francis Fukuyama, an erstwhile supporter of the neoconservative political faction and well-known political scientist."

According to NED it works primarily through the IRI and NDI.

NED's involvement in fomenting, training, facilitating, and paying the protesters and revolutionaries was documented by a Ukrainian group like "Anonymous":

The Duck Test

"If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck."

If you are willing to eat for, drink for, give speeches for, sanction nations for, stand up in the UN for, pass legislation for, give money to, protest for, or otherwise support Ultra Nationalists, its can only be because you are an Ultra Nationalist yourself. When John McCain first addressed the protesters at Maidan, the look of awe on his face was impossible to miss. This was his baby. He was at home. He told us as much: "We are all Ukrainians." Mr. McCain is serious. We are all Nazis.

Mr. McCain doesn't know the difference between Republicans and Nazis, because Far Right Republicans became Nazis, and Nazis are Republicans in the US. It is the same with the Neo-Liberals and Democrats. Democratic Representative Chris Murphy expressed the same sentiments as McCain for the same reasons.

That's the reason the news in the US is so filtered. If the media and the US government were to reveal what is really happening in Ukraine, they would at the same time also be admitting what they have become.

If you aren't an Ultra Nationalist, it's time to rein in those that are.

On March 6, 2014 President Obama issued the Executive Order to sanction people that he thinks contribute to the violation of Ukrainian territorial sovereignty or legitimacy. His basis for this is that the situation in Ukraine constitutes an extraordinary threat to US national security and foreign policy. For the US itself, President Obama declared a national emergency you are probably unaware of. When I read the executive order, the hair on the back of my neck stood up.

If you combine Section 1, parts iv and v, and Section 4(a) and Section 6(c), the order is very clear: Any person, including US citizens that are only writing about the Ukrainian Revolution, or government, who represent Bandera history, philosophy, and politics in any light other than favorable to the new Bandera-led Ukrainian government, is no better than Anwar Awlaki.

When we have such an executive order, and the President is trying to attack the financial system of a country like Russia, how far can we be from war? President Obama has pulled out all the stops, and is willfully backing the Ultra Nationalists in Ukraine with the full authority and reputation of the United States.

Awlaki, a US citizen once dined at the White House, was later "droned" instead of given a day in court, as was his 16-year-old son who went to find his body. He was droned, essentially, for being annoying. We used to try people for the most grievous crimes in court.

It's not every day you wake up realizing you may or may not have made every bad list the US government has. My wife and I discussed this all the way through my own writing about the Maidan coup, but that doesn't mitigate the shock factor in the Executive Order.

Read that Order. You'll find that even writing something at odds with the President's version of reality is a criminal offense when it comes to Ukraine. You'll also find it includes a "no recourse" clause.

What I Feel

Taken literally, the Executive Order means my country has walked away from me. I feel like a gnat that's realized there's a flyswatter in the room. But I can't change that. Only you can.

The people in southeast Ukraine wait, and every day the new government issues statements, policies, or laws that all lead to the same reality. Yulia Timoshenko wasn't lying in that phone call. The only way the new government will make peace is to destroy anyone who disagrees with them.

Doing right in the world used to be the highest American value. It was what we were known for. But it's a value only because it has a cost. It doesn't take tremendous courage to express your opinions at a keyboard, but sometimes facing the consequences does. You should not be at risk of being Obama'd.

Almost a week ago, here in Ukraine, my wife and I got a call from Client Bank Ukraine. It is a division of Privat Bank, which is owned by Oligarch turned Governor Igor Kolomoisky. They wanted to know if I had diplomatic status at the American Embassy in Kiev. That inquiry is weird enough on its own, and even more so since I have NEVER had an account with either bank. How would they even know I exist, let alone be interested in my passport? Where did they get a phone number?

I have written about Mr. Kolomoisky in a few of the articles I have published. He was the Oligarch who said about the protests in southeast Ukraine: "Give them what they want. We can hang them later." Both he and another Oligarch were reported on the news today, because they are hiring mercenary groups to quell any protests and maintain order in the regions they control.

The night I was trying to publish an article, a call came in on Skype with a profile I don't know. It just kept ringing. I finally answered after the 40th ring, and it was a data signal (kind of like what you would hear in a mid-level grade-B movie) with muffled voices in the background. I hung up, but they called back, again ringing incessantly. I answered and got the same transmission as before. I then hung up a second time, but again they called back. At that point I blocked the caller. But, once more, they called back. How could they do so? I tried to back-check the profile, but it didn't exist.

A Final Note: Americans Must Make a Choice

When asked if she had any regrets about her life, Slava Stetsko responded, " I have no guilty conscience...."

She brought Ukrainian Ultra Nationalism home to foment the revolution. She was one of Stepan Bandera's closest friends and compatriots. She was part of a guerilla unit. She was a leader in the genocide of over 500,000 Polish, Ukrainian, and Jewsh people. She was a hero of Democracy . She never had a guilty conscience.

A document of the Polish underground provides a condensed account of this terrible savagery:

"In all villages, settlements and colonies, without exception, the Ukrainians carried out the operation of murdering Poles with monstrous cruelty. Women -- even pregnant ones -- were nailed to the ground with bayonets; children were ripped apart by their legs; others were impaled on pitchforks and thrown over fences; members of the intelligentsia were tied with barbed wire and thrown into wells; arms, legs and heads were chopped off with axes; tongues were cut out, and ears and noses were cut off; eyes were gouged; genitals were butchered; bellies were ripped open and entrails pulled out; heads were smashed with hammers; living children were thrown inside burning houses. The barbaric frenzy reached a point that people were sawed apart alive and women had their breasts severed; others were impaled or beaten to death with sticks. Many people were killed -- after a death sentence -- by having their hands and feet chopped off, and only then their heads." Ewa Siemaszko, "The July 1943 genocidal operations of the OUN-UPA in Volhynia."

Slava Stetsko made her choice about conscience. What will America's be?
