Iori Mochizuki speaks

By Nick Thabit

Iori Mochizuki is the writer of Fukushima Diary, one of very few sources of real news on the Fukushima nuclear crisis; he spends twelve hours a day researching the local Japanese news, blogs, and messages from workers inside the nuclear plant, and translates them to English for the world to read. He evacuated Japan after being exposed to radiation; now he writes on the run. Here he addresses the C.A.N. rally in Washington, DC.

Iori Mochizuki, the writer of Fukushima Diary, one of the only sources of real news about the Fukushima nuclear disaster from inside Japan, addresses the C.A.N. (Coalition Against Nukes) rally in Washington DC on Sept. 20, 2012.

Thank you for watching.  We bombed Japan twice with nuclear weapons; GE knowingly sold them defective reactors. Now it's time for us to help them any way we can. Please write the President http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/submit-questions-and-comments and ask him to provide aid and refugee status to any Japanese who wishes to evacuate to the U.S. Ask him also to tell the truth about the radiation to the public and to stop pushing nuclear energy (even now!) on Japan.  If you're not in the U.S., contact your Prime Minister or Monarch wherever you are, ask them to step in with an offer of help.

If the spent fuel pool atop Reactor no. 4 at Fukushima I Nuclear Power Station is broken by another earthquake, we will face a nuclear disaster of unthinkable proportions. Here's some background: http://fukushimawatch.blogspot.com/

Please help prevent this catastrophe. To get started, you can take these actions, and perhaps come up with your own. Sign this petition, and any others you can find; easy with Google. And spread the word.

Write to him at The Ministry of the Environment,English message form: https://www.env.go.jp/en/moemail/

Email TEPCO at their headquarters and ask them to accept help from other countries, here:
http://www.tepco.co.jp/en/other/contact/general-e.html
Address it to either: Attn: Tsunehisa Katsumata, Chairman;  or, Attn: Naomi Hirose, President

The Emperor, Akihito, is attended to by the Imperial Household Agency, who may or may not forward messages, but here is their email: information-at-kunaicho.go.jp
The proper form of address: Your Imperial Majesty. Enough messages just might do something.

Form a local Fukushima Response group to help create the political will to stabilize Fukushima, illuminate its effects here, and express solidarity with Japanese. Bob Mendelson's network can help: elijah18901-at-yahoo.com

I've focused mainly on the Japanese government and TEPCO because ultimately, the decision to accept help lies with them, no matter how much is offered. They've declined most offers so far.

Occupy Japan: express your solidarity with the Japanese, they need your support.  Visit their Friday night anti-nuke protests at IWJ Ustream late Thursday night: http://iwj.co.jp/channels/main/
Many opportunities to connect on Facebook, Dissensus-Japan and other blogs, and online groups. Work from the heart.

Peace
